Lock's highlight film and arm talent blows Mitchell Trubiski away.

Is 1.01 possible with a great year?

It's possible.

He's got ideal size and arm talent for the NFL.

NFL is QB dumb. Not that he's a bad QB, in fact he's far from it, it's just that they get desperate.

He'll go high first round.

If he gets it together this year, he'll be top 5 easy.

Arm talent and size are good BUT, horrible film against good competition, plus the offense having him read 1/2 a field will hurt him.

That's only a portion of the playbook.

RG3 ran essentially the same offense

RG III did not look like a deer in the headlights like Lock has. RG III also burned out quickly and never developed as a true pocket passer which every NFL team wants.

None of that matters.

The NFL is like the guy that lives in a doublewide and sees a '55 tv for $500 on Black Friday.

They stand in line for that shite.

I agree with you. He along with the rest of the team was horrid against superior competition.

Others are also right in that the NFL is stupid for QB's. In balancing the two He should be a 2nd round maybe.

We'll see how the season goes. Right now he is not the first QB taken

but I think when the time comes he will do quite well

Right. Getting to hung up on how he did and against you.

That's pretty secondary

ETA: Kind of drunk

I still think he gets a bum rap for last season.

If J'mon doesn't fumble that catch against UGA, it's a different season, and Lock is viewed differently.

Sure, he's a half the field guy, but for me that was the seminal moment for him and the team.

J'mon takes that to the house and everything is different last year.

One play.

All of this but the NFL drafts QBs on potential more than anything else.

Drew's 1st season Mizzou had an ineffective O line. Last year the O line was much improved; the defense should start to bounce back this year; they underachieved last year.

Draw needs to improve his read progressions, even though the offensive scheme does not require him to go through more than a couple.

After his Senior season he will be drafted high; on potential if not performance.

Extremely doubtful. Next years class is potentially stacked with high profile guys. Darnold, Rosen, out in LA are primed for spotlight. Quite a few good seniors coming out next year too: JT Barrett, Baker Mayfield, Mason Rudolph, Luke Falk. Not to mention some solid others like Jake Browning.

The next year is much weaker, aka, better for Lock: McSorley, Blake Barnett, and maybe Lamar Jackson.

That's not really a stacked class. Darnold will go first. Rosen is similar to Lock in that he has the physical tools, but hasn't put it together just yet.
Guys like Mayfield and Barrett don't have the size or arm strength to go in the first round. Though similar to Chase Daniel have good shots to last a long time in the NFL.

I did forget about Darnold, but none of the other guys mentioned are better pro prospects than Lock

There's also the qb from Wyoming projected to go top 5. Sounds like a much better qb class next year.

Since 2001 there are 6 seasons that the starting QB had a better QB rating than Lock's sophomore year. Chase had 3 (06,07,08) Franklin had 2 (2011, 2013) and Gabbert had one (2009).

The #1 WR on each of those teams would have come down with more than the 62 balls that Moore caught on comparable targets (126).

He needs to clean up his reads and use his inside receivers better but guys have to make plays on the ball.
