You're underestimating the Rant's propensity for irrationality. No matter what happens in these last two games, Mizzou will still get less respect than another SEC team in the same situation.

I love how every single prediction but 1 apparently has us losing a game before the SECCG. For us to fall to the Outback, we'd have to miss the SECCG, right?

I heard Jerry Palm interviewed today and he has us making the SECCG on a three-way tie (GA beats AU, SC wins out, MIZ beats OM and loses to A&M)

Mizzou then loses to Alabama.

I'd rather win out and play Bama, but I would take the SECCG anyway I could get it.

Mizzou is an interesting case.... usually the East teams go to the Florida bowls, but if you guys should lose the SECCG, the Cotton might actually take you instead of the Capital One, Outback or Gator. Obviously if you win it's the Sugar (barring complete chaos nationally). There's nothing that specifically says Outback has to take an East team or Cotton has to take a West team.

bowl order in the SEC

The bowl order only means which bowl pick first, and they can pretty much choose whomever they want. Texas A&M and Auburn will probably get the BCS at-large and Capital One bids due to the money they'd bring.

Nevertheless, I LOVE bowl season. Bowl Sunday is truly one of my favorite days of the year. I love seeing where everyone's going to go- it's like the Academy Awards of college football

I am completely okay with playing Clemson or Michigan State.

We all know what happened last time a team based in Columbia played a team from Michigan in the Outback Bowl.... coincidence? I think not.

are you sure? Im pretty sure they have to take a West team... I might be wrong but I think I remember reading that.

Matter wrote an article about this today....
article

It's not that they have to take a team from one division or another, it's a first rights thing from what this sounds like.
quote:

“The caveat is this,” said Mike Schulze, Outback Bowl director of communications and sponsorships, “if the Cotton Bowl and us want the same team then the contract reads that we get first right from the East Division and they get first right from a team from the West Division.” Just once in the last 16 years has a West Division team played in the Outback Bowl: Auburn in the 2010 game. And just twice in 15 years has an East team played in the Cotton Bowl: Tennessee in 2001 and 2005. But if there’s ever a team that could break that trend it could be Missouri. Mizzou sold its Cotton Bowl ticket allotment in a few hours in 2007 and, along with fans from Arkansas, packed the Cotton Bowl for their game on Jan. 1, 2008. The game has since moved to AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

Yes. Normally it goes Sec Champ goes to NC game, West/East loser up goes to Sugar / Capital One bowl
#2 Highest Ranked in SEC in this case Auburn goes to either Sugar / Cap One Bowl then they fill out by W/L ranking and whichever bowl gets first rights.

So If Mizzou makes SEC Championship and loses the Storm Bowl rematch then they have a shot at the Sugar or Capital One bowl.

Gotta show up to Ole Miss and aTm though.. Can Franklin / Mauk put up the points to match Johnny?

They'll put up points. Hopefully it's enough. I think we have to break 50 to win.

Oh, I realize this. And I know this will be tough. I just find it amusing that no one gives us a shot to win out.

And yes, I think we can put up points. A&M has no defense, and we should be able to put up enough points. I also think it's possible that our DEs will give JFF some trouble.
