Big early season test here. It’s obviously not a must win, but I like the way the team is playing and if they could get a win here it would be a HUGE springboard for the rest of the season.

We have the bodies to win a game like this but I think this true road game comes just a bit too early for our young guys and we lose a competitive game.

Haven't gotten to see them play yet so looking forward to it. Either way, win or lose this is a good test early in the year.

I’m trying not to get too carried away, but I’ve been very impressed with the growth.

The huge athletic upgrade at the four and having two legitimate point guards has me excited

Can't remember. Is it Xavier or Butler that is a surprisingly tough venue to play as an away team.

One half down. Trailing by 7 on the road vs a ranked opponent. As for the early season "test", I'll give them a C- for the first half.

Offense: Putrid. Turnovers galore. No rhythm. Multiple droughts of 6+ minutes without a field goal. However, finished the half on a 9-1 run. Played essentially the entire half without Tilmon.

Defense: Pretty good. Held them to 27 points. Put the clamps on in the final 2 minutes. A few lapses but overall looked alright. Again played without Tilmon the whole half.

Way to jinx us.

Jk.

My Hulu live doesn’t have CBS sports. But sounds like we played an ultra competitive game while Mark Smith and Tilmon didn’t have their best games.

Tilmon was good... when he was in(spinning record)

Dru and Pinson were the standouts, even tho both had far too many TO.

Not a bad game tho, I’ll take it as progress

Progress? I disagree. Same shite, different year. shite offense, not valuing the ball, Tilmon fouls. It’s like Groundhog Day.

Cuonzo has got to figure out how to get more efficient on the offensive end, and instill in this team that they HAVE to take care of the ball. Nowhere near good enough to give the basketball away as much as they do and beat decent teams.

Plenty of time to improve of course, but when you continually see the same shite over and over and over...

3rd game of the year, 1st away from home, still a young team with 2 newbies in the starting line up and you lose a road game to a ranked team that you SHOULD HAVE WON is progress. A tiny bit of progress or monster progress it doesn’t matter, it’s progress. Relax.

3rd year now. Same exact issues. Sorry, that’s not progress. Xavier is either only decent or they played like shite. Either way, there was nothing impressive about that game other than them playing hard. Which they always do, which is a testament to the coach...BUT they did the other shite they always do as well.

Yes, it’s the 3rd game. Yes, plenty of time to actually progress. This moral victory stuff after that performance is corny as hell though

You keep saying third year now. Please explain what you mean by “3rd year”?

Did I say anything about firing the coach? Babble on about how shitty he is?

He has some very recognizable deficiencies at this time and those deficiencies were the exact reason we lost a very winnable game. But that’s progress? It’s not. It’s the very opposite actually.

Had they played well and lost a tough fought game that would be fine. They didn’t, played like shite and lost a very winnable game.
