I'll also wait for the Xavier game. Assuming we can keep it within 10, I think we have a shot at .500. SEC looks to be down this year as well.

I can see an April presser:

"We have just signed a 5-year contract with Kim Anderson to coach our Missouri Tigers Basketball Team. After a much-improved season during which we only lost half of our games, we feel the near future can result in consistent 17 wins with Kim at the helm and Jesus as our guide. In addition, because 5 current players recently announced their transfers, we feel this is an additional incentive for high school recruits who want immediate playing time. So....Let's go Tigers!! MIZ!!....uh, I say MIZ!!!

Whatever. Thank you for coming."

Sterk could have an interesting decision if this team goes .500.
The anti-KA The last 3 coaches all won at least 23 games and made an NCAA tournament by year 3.
That could be used as a reason to fire KA. Of course all of those coaches had peaked by the end of their third season.

The Pro KA. Winning 16 games, with a roster that returns 9 of the top 10 players. Could be used to keep KA or give him an extension.

Sterk could also use the .500 team that returns mostly intact to recruit a better quality coach than if the team comes off another 10 win season.

This tournament will give us a good idea of where we're at and if we have improved. I'm not expecting to win the thing but lose all 3 and well, there's always wrestling.

Honest question. If we beat X, whats next? Is Kim golden regardless of the rest of the season? Will you be happy? Will you be optimistic? Will you hate life?

No, One robin does not make a spring. Beating X and ending with 14 wins ain't gonna cut it.

what's next is the winner of the other game as far as mizzou hoops goes. No he won't be golden or set but it will be a step in that direction. Of course I'd be happy if they beat X. I'll be happy if they lose to X. In the bigger picture, Mizzou hoops just doesn't impact my life enough to determine whether I'm happy or not. Optimistic? I think it would be good reason to be optimistic for the team. That would be a huge win for them. Hate life? Absolutely. I live and die by the hoops failures

Where I'm getting this from is that I have two friends who live for mizzou, but they both are wishing for different results tomorrow.

I get it. I just want the program to be successful. Don't care who the coach is. I would have been thrilled to have been wrong about KA. In the meantime I will be at more SLU games than Mizzou

Ugh I feel for you then. SLU is going to be terrible this year. Maybe just take a year off from college hoops. SLU should be solid starting next year.

Meh. The records may end up about the same but one program has a buzz and excitement about it with a coach that is promising for their level of a program. The other creates as much excitement as logging into AOL with dial up. Oh and the coach is about that ancient as well.

Figures a Missouri college finally wins an national championship and Mizzou has to pay for it.
