From what I've seen and heard, Mauk has some weird arse delivery that he's been very successful with. Apparently part of his commitment was that we wouldn't try to change his throwing style.

It does seem to be pretty effective based in high school numbers. If he winds up winning the spot, he's my guy.

I don't think there could be much horrible about having the #1 QB in high school chucking balls to the #1 WR in high school history. Hell, that was part of the reason DGB came to Mizzou.

Hopefully he's a Manziel. I do like the idea of a winner leading the O. We could use another Chase.

His throwing motion is similar to Kapernick in San Fran from what I have heard. As long as its not like tebow I am fine with it.

He's not a Manziel, not even close to the same breed.

We'll be lucky to get something similar to Chase Daniel.

He seems to have an almost sidearm delivery but it's not really sidearmed. It almost appears he's just playing catch. He does seem to have a quick release. The ball zips off his hand quick. I could see where that throwing style might be well suited for throwing on the run.

I could really care less which guy gets it as long as they keep driving each other to be better. It seems like a stiff competition.

He now throws differently than when he was in High School. The staff has drastically been reducing the hitch in his throw.

I really hope Mauk gets the job. Seems like he has the potential to be a really good and dynamic QB

Franklin appeared to be slightly better in the last scrimmage. Although there may be a different story from the closed practices. Even if Franklin wins I like that he is being pushed and knows he has someone watching him. And IF Franklin wins I like the idea of Maty still playing a few series in a game to get him ready because I would think he is the clear cut starter in 2014.

Did you get a chance to see it Mizzou? I didn't so when I read the stats (admittedly not real closely) I thought they were about even in the most even one if you consider the fact that Boehm sent a couple/few snaps sailing over Mauk's head yet he was able to corral them with enough time to throw them away and avoid a sack.

I didn't get to watch just echo sentiments from a few writers. And when I say slightly I mean very very slightly.

Yeah, I hear ya. I wasn't trying to call you out. I was just really interested in hearing from anyone who got to see them in person.

Ive heard from several reporters they would like to decide sooner than later but do not want to rush it. The feeling im getting is it will be more of hensons decision. That makes me feel more comfortable.

That makes me feel better too. I'm not a fan of going the whole summer of not knowing who your QB is either. To me, that's a bad sign, not a good sign. I know some read it as just good competition. I read it as none are good enough to make it clear this is their team.

I think it was Dave Matter who said both players have just been good. But both players have showed promise. The scheme change will likely benefit either QB greatly. Better protection by scheme. Reserved optimism. Hopefully I can go to the scrimmage this weekend and see first hand.

If you do, I look forward to hearing your thoughts after seeing them firsthand.

So I took a look at the QB numbers from today and I'm starting to see a trend in who is the most consistently reliable QB. Printz was 4/6 again today. Granted, small sample size. But he seems to be doing the most with his opportunities.

Thing to remember about Printz is hes going against the 3's and walkons. But it does make me excited about his future. Mauk struggled a little bit from what I have read. Mizzou picked up a commitment from Florida DE Rocel McWilliams. Cant find anything on him except he is around 6'3 240. Several new offers today as well.

Seems like he is poised to become the #GarbageTimeMVP2013

to be serious though, I hope he or Maty can take the job from JF, sorry Mr. Franklin.

If you can't find anything on him, do I take that to mean he is another diamond in the rough? I mean no stars or ratings or whatever?

I don't think Printz gets the job this year, but he is making the most out of his opportunities and while he's doing it against 3rd stringers, he's also doing it with 3rd stringers surrounding him I'm sure. He'll redshirt this year, little doubt. It will be some combo of Franklin/Mauk with Berk being the 3rd QB, meaning Printz and Hosick will redshirt (assuming Hosick stays at QB).
