Just left A&M. Guard and center, SEC all Freshman. Needs to be the first call Drink makes on the 15th. Him at center and the Houston transfer at guard, and that's a hell of an OL.
Upperclassmen was injured last year so this kid got 9 starts. The Upperclassmen is back so kid slid to the 2nd unit. He wants to play, and we have a starting spot open at Center.

Aggies are saying he may not have started for them if he stayed, and the aTm offense wasn't that good last year. That doesn't sound like an upgrade from what we have. IMO we have guys on the roster already who are comparable.

He was freshman all SEC. We had one of those, he now starts at LSU. And I don't think you can blame a kid who consistently graded out higher then our internal OL while playing in the toughest division in college football. A&Ms struggles start with Jimbos offense, which is why he has a new OC.

Moot point anyway, as he didn't enter portal in time to be able to transfer within the SEC and be immediately eligible.

This is a stupid rule. With mega conference’s this needs be changed. The only way they may be able to get around it is if they leave their current school and take a summer class(golf)at a different school. Then enroll at the new one and be a walk-on. The rules for walk-ons is a little different. NLI money will be the same as getting a scholarship.

freshman all-SEC is sometimes only a matter of having the most snaps at a position. Especially on OL, where few freshmen get a chance to play a lot. Before we hold that up too much, how much playing time did other freshmen centers in the SEC actually play?

Good point, but I counter with...He graded very well as a freshman in the SEC West. That is not easy. He had 9 starts mostly in SEC play. He was at a school that recruits extremely well and was the second stringer as a Freshman.
But we can't get him anyway, but to say he wouldn't be an upgrade over 3 guys who can't win any confidence in practice is ridiculous.

I'm not ready to give up on Tollison at center, and we haven't had a chance to see Polgar in action. If a portal center becomes available (outside of SEC) soon that is a CLEAR upgrade then I'm all for pursuing him. Again, it's just my opinion, but OL is a developmental position that takes a little patience to stay the course.
