Is this some sort of inside joke? I don't get it?

Just like the title of this post...there's no buzz. There's not much talk or media on the game. I know that it's vanila and trying not to get injuries, but.......

I'm always pumped for football, but....

I really don't know what you guys are talking about. It's a spring game. It's being plastered all over social media. I've heard several commercials on sports talk radio here in STL.

I'm not sure what anyone was expecting. If there is no "buzz" that's simply a product of your own excitement for the program. That's your right of course, and there is no doubt we have a very docile fanbase, but what kind of "buzz" were you expecting?

You managed to randomly pick one of the most rabid fan bases in the nation where 65% of the state's population lives within a 45 minute radius of the campus.

Well done.

Oh, you just randomly picked Nebraska who sells out their spring game every year huh?

LOL

That says way more about their fanbase than any "buzz" the school created.

The Corn Huskers have struggled lately on the field and they(media) still make the spring game a big deal to the fans and the potential recruits. That's all.

"They" don't do anything we don't do.

They just have fans that want to go.

Because they are bored out of their skulls. There is NOTHING to do in Nebraska. Seriously...

In Nebraska, they feed the hogs. Oh, they also take care of their livestock...

These are the reasons that I said there isn't any buzz for the spring game.

Again, that's on the fans. If fans don't want to go to a spring game (and I don't blame them), then there isn't much you can do to make them.

Spring games are boring. It's a chance for coaches to evaluate the roster. Nothing more.

They bring in recruits for the spring game and that's what makes a boring vanilla game important. If I'm a recruit with a decent offer list and see less than 2 thousand people there and then I go to another school's game and see 25,000 on up and there's a lot of hype and flare around a glorified scrimmage I'm going to take the other schools more seriously. That's just my opinion and you and whoever have yours.

Kids who commit because of crowd sizes are not coming to Mizzou regardless.

Exactly

Fan support is not going to be a selling point for our staff. Our fans suck. Coaches can't make them show up for games.

Win and the bandwagon will come together slowly. That's all they can do.

We said that going to the SEC would booster recruiting and then we said if we win they would come. We won 2 conference titles and recruiting stayed the same.

Lets find solutions and then start acting and not make excuses for everything. I will never buy that Mizzou can't be a consistent winner, but the fans supporting the team is another thing.

Here's a comment from another forum on there was no buzz for the spring game.

Mizzou needs major help. The marketing Bozo's have no clue what they are doing. You work with the city of Como and you promote events tied to the University and the City to drive up admission at these events.

Mizzou has a marketing Team that includes a guy who was a associate at LA Tech's Marketing Department and a guy that was a Adjunct Professor of Marketing at Ole Miss.
The Athletic Department needs massive help.

I honestly think these clowns in the athletic marketing department sit around in a circle post a couple of Tweets and collect a check.
No print marketing which is all over Atlanta for UGA
No TV adds for season tickets
No promotions
No planning with the City of Como

Its insane.

Honestly I live 30 minutes from Athens GA, we are going to G day next week.....There is a festival downtown, carnival, members of the basketball team and football alumni will be signing autographs, Miss Georgia and Miss Teen Georgia will be there.
What did Mizzou do? "Hey we are having a game" stop by and see the softball team?

What the F is going on at Mizzou? Why not have some of the former players back for an autograph or meet and greet? Have MPJ have a meet and greet, do something.

Absolutley correct....

Didn't even know the date of the B&G game until two weeks before...mentioned on a local sports show...

The "culture" for college football here is a joke...

Half of that just isn't true. If you watch a Cardinals game you will see the season ticket ad 3 or 4 times. It sucks, but it's there. It's all over sports talk radio. It's there.

There is a bunch of stuff for kids to do at the spring game. Mine love it. The players are available for autographs. Kids can run around the field after the game.

Could we do more? I guess. I remember there was a David Nail concert one year.

Would it matter? I don't know. Again, if anyone didn't know about the spring game or didn't have any excitement for the spring game that's 100% on them.
