Hypothetically speaking just to get the wheels of conversation turning does this team have a shot at 10 wins next season if Lock comes back? This team returns a lot of really good pieces. I understand we don’t necessarily know who the hell will coach them, but just a midweek discussion.
Also preseason Top 25? I think yes. Big difference in schedule though next yr.

It all depends on the defense, which has a chance to be really good.

To approach 10 wins 3 positions have to emerge. DE opposite Tre Williams (unless Mizzou goes with more of a 3-4 look), FS (Sherrils replacement) and CB’s (Sparks and Acy got better, but were still the weakest part of the defense)

If Lock returns with the other 9 returning staters the only offensive question is who replaces Moore.

Ehh im not sure about 10 wins, next years schedule is going to be much tougher than this year with Bama as our cross division game plus tougher ooc games with Purdue and Memphis. Id love to see a 10 win season but im thinking 7-8 wins i think 10 wins might be a stretch.

I think 9-3 will be respectable, and semi expected by the fan base. Bama and Jawja will be rough, but the rest are very winnable.

I'm cautiously optimistic about next year I agree there are alot of winnable games on the schedule I just hope the team shows up the entire year not just the second half like the past two years in a row.

Let's beat a winning team before I will feel comfortable about a winning record.

No one analyst thought Mizzou had a shot at 10 wins going into this season.

Almost every prediction had Mizzou getting somewhere between 5-8 wins.

We’re gonna get pooped on by Bama, but we have a legit shot at winning the rest. UGA loses 31 seniors this year

Yes and possibly a few more. I'll say the same thing I said for this year; IF our D is in the top half of the SEC, we'll go to the SECCG.

How does one figure 8 wins tops with what we have returning? Just curious. The team closed the season like a freight train rolling everyone. All anyone wants to talk about is the weak schedule, well nobody else was beating those same teams in that fashion.

There were positives, but they finished off by beating a bad Arkansas team by 3 points with the defense looking horrible.

I'll get on board with having a big year in 2018 when they beat a good team. Texas doesn't really qualify with several of their best players sitting out.

Arkansas had last minute losses to Mississippi, Mississippi State and Mizzou.

They were 18 points away from a 8 wins.

Lost by 7 to A&M, 7 to MSU, 1 to Mississippi and 3 against Mizzou.

Have a decent to good year beating teams above 500. Most if not all should be on board.

They ended this season beating the teams to should.

With as horrid as the first half of the season we should be happy that the team actually looked like a real P5 program the last half.

Point being they didn't just look like an average P5 team. They looked like they had a top 5 offense in the country the second half of the season and were smoking teams. Arky played a good game against us and wanted that game. We won on the road in a hostile setting.

...not only didn't we beat a winning team, but we didn't beat an average team(S. Carolina, Purdue, and Kentucky)

Of those 3 games, I believe the only one we should have lost was Purdue. They were well prepared and inspired. Their coach did a hell of a job on both sides of the ball. The bowl game can be a big help for the 2018 season because players and fans will be more optimistic if they beat Texas.

Vegas would have us as favorites against those 3 teams if we played them today on a neutral site. Maybe even on the road. Point being next yr, with everyone coming back.
