He'd be worth a look if he could stay academically eligible. He got benched late in 2017 for some off the field stuff and missed all of 2018 because of his grades.

No need, we have a 6'4" 289 pound converted QB with 4 months of OT experience.

You seem obsessed over Matute.

Define obsessed?

Why would we go after Boyd if we already filled the OT spot they were looking at?

They wasted a scholarship on a guy whose best offer was Lindenwood. He's undersized and has not experience at the position. Diamon in the rough for sure.

I would have guessed that graduating from a Catholic school would mean good academics. Is that not true at Trinity?

It would be a great get for us just because now we can show Trinity Catholic that the Illini is not everyone's cup of tea.

I know Terrence Curry will tell them that but it would be nice to hear it and see it from someone who went there from there high school

Boyd was always average at best and if he couldn't cut it at a mid major like illini, why bother.

He was an immediate starter and made the Big Ten Freshman team. His troubles were off field and academics.

Seems a good pick up if he is academically eligible. He might need to go JuCo first. East Mississippi Community College is always looking for D1 guys.
