Florida, Ohio State, Michigan sometimes, Texas sometimes, etc. You can be awesome in both. We've always been a pretty balanced school between football and hoops, sometimes good at one, sometimes awful at the other, oftentimes pretty good at both. I want to be freaking awesome at both. That's the goal.
I do not want to be "a football school" in the sense of being another of these SEC bozo schools that lets its hoops program go in the shitter and doesn't even care. That's not Mizzou basketball. We should not allow it to be. If that makes me part of the faction then fair enough, but its not like most Boone County hoop heads don't care about football too. Look in the stands at Faurot. We're not like Beaker fans and never will be. We all care.

Course, the key to giving good speeches is to say shite that's almost impossible to disagree with and keys on your emotions. If you ask me HOW we're supposed to kick arse in both sports, or the nitty gritty details of whether I think a basketball coach like Marshall should make more than Pinkel, and if not, are we trying hard enough in hoops, and if so, are we trying hard enough in SEC football, and umm....errr......ummmm......
Like I said, kick arse in football! Kick arse in hoops! Lower taxes! Free healthcare! Put bacon on everything! Puppies!

ATX, I'm completely with you. I never did understand the either/or but never both mentality. I really figured it was excuses made by those who were bad. There is no reason that any school, especially Mizzou, can't put out top notch football AND basketball. I want to win shite in both. And I really don't understand those that think otherwise.
