No offense but not buying the damage control.
I dont doubt he took a lot of heat. He didnt mean "one" fan. It is what it is.

At the end of the day, I don't give a shite if he likes me, or the rest of the fan base. I only give a shite that he's out there busting his arse to get better, and that when the moment comes he's ready to perform.

The comment doesn't bother me. I was rude about him, though not to him. I just happen to think I was justified in saying whatever I said. Perform and you'll be praised. Shite the bed and expect to be dogged. And I know there were people who were bigger dicks about it than me. Should have dodged the question all together but what he said and how he said it doesn't bother me on this occasion.

I watch a lot of West Wing.
I'm just assuming he was in a high pressure situation and the question got away from him. The media will always spin it to get as many views/sell as many papers as possible. It's about damage control.
He appears to be trying damage control instead of saying what he did and walking out like a pimp, so I guess that's something.
He's just a kid that got shite on a lot last year because he sucked. I'll be on his side if he does well this year, and I'll be against him if he doesn't.
We can all the the fat middle aged unathletic Sunday morning QBs we want, that's our right. We support this team and this school and they're both bigger than James Franklin. He signed up for this and he's getting an education for free that his peers are going to pay off until they're 30. He's compensated to handle the heat.
If he's our guy next year, he's my guy. If he's not, I hope he passes his classes so he can get a degree and the criticism he feels he's gotten is worth it.

Spot on Mizzeaux. I could have done without the smiley's but at least he acknowledged he deserved to be shite on last year. Hopefully that's a sign that he's taking ownership of how bad he was and is stepping up instead of side-stepping the issue. Like you said though, bottom line, perform and all will be good. Shite the bed and everyone will be calling for Mauk and then for GP's head.

I think a lot of this thread is in jest. The smiley faces are kinda strange, as well as the overall presentation of the "note". However, what he has to say has merit.
I don't think there's anyone here that doesn't want to see him succeed, and to a deeper point, doesn't think that he is a good guy. He might even be too good a guy if that's possible.
Bottom line. Just win baby.
