We need more than wins at this point to establish what is needed for future competitiveness. With an earlier signing period, negative perception around the program, and a lack of media presence outside of Missouri, there is a major hole we need to dig ourselves out of and winning 5-6 games in this hyper competitive social media era won't cut it.

Back in the day, coaches who were guaranteed 3-5 years to build their program did not have the sec network/media exposure highlighting their flaws for recruits and casual twitter fans to use as ammunition against a program looking to establish a winning culture.

The exposure and big money we were looking for also plays a major role in the perception of our program which matters more than wins against struggling teams in the SEC East, FCS, or ranked in the bottom 30 in FBS.

Oh, I'm sure this board will pull a lot of "yeah, buts" if BO finishes strong and makes a bowl. Little doubt in my mind.

You're giving the national media way too much credit though.

If we win 6 games that means we went 5-1 down the stretch. That would be the narrative or as much narrative as we are going to get anyway.

With wins comes all those things you are talking about. It's all that matters at this point.

He wins and gets a little momentum going forward, or he doesn't and we hire someone else. Such is life.

I think there is a far better chance of you pumpers trying to spin it as something it's not.

Impressive

Winning against shite teams isn't anything special......... Or at least it wasn't under GP.

So what then?

What can the team do about the schedule?

I mean, you're already starting to diminish it and it hasn't even happened. LOL, but there's a better chance the "pumpers" spin it...

If we win 6 games, it won't necessarily be "impressive", but it will be progress. A coach showing progress and finishing strong in his second year has earned himself a 3rd. No need to spin anything on my end, that's the way it is.

GP’s first win against a good team was year 3 Nebraska. Step 1 is to beat bad teams.

That's a good point. I would have like to have seen this board in year 2 of the GP tenure.

Stop sucking BO's dick. That's a bullshite statement. It's not just that people think he is bad...HE HAS BEEN BAD based on results so far. How the hell can you make the argument that he has done a good job but some "just think" he's bad? And yes, your statement implies that.

One time we had a coach that we thought was bad who turned out to not be bad. Ergo, we have a good coach.

So you’re saying in year 3 we may beat Kentucky?

Who knows if BO even gets to year 3. If the season was over today, BO would be fired. It’s not over and BO has 5 games to either show he is the guy for the job, or not.

If f the defensive personnel and scheme changes work, then maybe teams score between 23-27 ppg and Mizzou goes 4-1. If that happens BO will be back, with most of his 2 deep returning.
If those changes don’t work I see 1 maybe 2 more wins. In that case we get to go through another coaching search.

How many SEC wins does BO currently have? What makes anyone think his team will win one? Because they lost to a bad Kentucky team and hit a few bombs vs Georgia?

Time will tell. He’s been here 1 1/2 years as HC. He inherited pretty much Shite, and trying to make chicken salad out of it. Tough to do. Fortunately, it doesn’t matter what any of us think. Sterk will decide at years end, and I suspect BO will be back for year 3! Won’t that be fun? Get to listen to all of you guys another full year. And Lord help us if he turns this program around and has success. I’m not sure there’s enough salt and pepper in the world for the crow you guys will need to consume!

You ask the impossible. His love for BO is as strong as it was for KA... We just need to deal with it.

You sound surprised.

Come on bro spin trumps results don't you know that?

Pump doesn't need to be factual... Remember he was also one of the last pumping KA before the BB program was rescued.

the next coach is going to inherit one hell of a rebuilding job. Looks like we will be lost in the woods for a long time.

You are truly unintelligent.

Quite literally, not one shred of your post even has a semblance of reality.

At no point was I ever a KA defender. You have a real penchant for flat out making shite up.

Furthermore, in your immense stupidity (along with others) you some how contrive every post that doesn't include a hardy "frick Odom" into some kind of defense mechanism. Somehow, we've arrived at the point where enraged ramblings are viewed as a reasonable approach. Textbook mob mentality on display.

I've stated many, many times that if AT THE END OF THE SEASON that Odom's firing is the correct course then I would 100% be on board with it. I've even laid out specific guidelines several times. Yet this all continually flies directly over your collective heads.
