but I'm just telling you knowing Alden, and we all know what a square he is about this stuff,

I agree completely with this, and agree with your reasoning as to why Alden wouldn't consider him.

Oddly enough though with recent incidents at Mizzou that's pretty hypocritical.

I'd have to figure out which incidents you refer to (sadly there are enough of them that it requires narrowing down) but at any rate Alden has definitely shown to be very reactive and not good at foreseeing the next potential challenge or problem.

I think the Quin Snyder thing and the media circus surrounding it is what shaped the Alden we have today. It seems at times like he vowed that he never ever again wanted another Rickygate, and so he's so focused on controlling message, nipping every single potential scandal in the bud, that his control attempts actually result in a lot of what we all say is the "bad PR" by Mizzou. Mike Dixon may have raped one girl...wait maybe two...we have to control the message and not let the media get hold of it until there's no choice. Michael Sam is gay...we have to (sit down and have a talk with Sam to tell him he can do what he wants but that it would probably be best if we) control the message and not let the media get hold of it until there's no choice. A swimmer and some football players were saying some stuff maybe indicating a sexual incident of some kind...we have to control the message and not let the media get hold of it until there's no choice. The Antlers act all Antlery...we have to control the message and not let the media get hold of it until there's no choice. Tony Criswell has been having God knows what going on exactly....we have to control the message and not let the media get hold of it until there's no choice.

Part of that is the fault of a sensationalist media that makes Alden's approach justifiable in many ways. But we've seen many instances where it really starts looking like Alden cares more about keeping certain things under wraps (so he can control them and not have another Rickygate media frenzy) than he does about resolving whatever problem or issue it is that happened on campus or to a student athlete or coach.

I know your name on TigerBoard, but that confused me. Just a little.

See that's the thing, it's not quite as simple as "that name = ATX." I don't have any double handles here or there, that would be illegal and immoral, but I can't really honestly say that handle you refer to is me in the traditional sense either...its kinda complex.

You frickers all need to use your TB handles here, or at least disclose them here.

After fourteen something years on TB, I want to know if I'm supposed to hate you here.
