Technically I guess I do post as Eggs some of the time, but when I do its not under the handle Eggs. I only have one handle. It's just that some of the time the posting by my handle is by Eggs. I can tell I'm losing you here. You know at the end of the movie Scream where the masked villain was actually two people but it was still all one crime? Sort of like that. Only with less stabbing. And no mask. But like, sort of.

Good hire for Auburn, haven't put that much thought into it really. I think on the one hand, there's more of a ceiling on what he can do there same way there is one for Frank Martin at SC and Mark Fox at Georgia in so far as all three are really really good coaches who could probably do a whole lot more elsewhere.

On the other hand, I love the trend of having three really really good coaches at traditionally lower tier SEC programs now b/c the bottom half of the league especially has GOT to start producing. It only helps Mizzou, just like their sucktitude victimized our NCAA tourney resume this year. Rather than having to rely on Mizzou's coaches and players to produce a 12-6 or better conference record every year in order to be safely in the Dance, I'd much much much rather get back to our old Big 12/Big 8 standard whereby a .500 record in conference and 22-11 type season overall would still put you safely in the Dance, and the path back there is for the lower tier teams in this conference to stop being shitpiles. Mizzou Arena, I think, will *always* be a tough place for most SEC teams to win in no matter what, and we'll almost always be fine there. But if we can get to where losing road games at places like Georgia and SC and Auburn is no longer an RPI killer, b/c they have become well coached teams stockpiling decent talent, that's great.

If your question is more along the lines of Bruce Pearl as a candidate to replace Frank Haith, the reason I said it was unrealistic is that Mike Alden, in my opinion, was never going to hire a coach who had been placed under a show cause after what Alden just went through with the threat of a show cause being placed on Haith at Mizzou by the NCAA. Now you can use that as more fuel to argue why Haith sucks if you want, i.e. he sucks so much he even made Pearl a non-candidate even though Auburn could hire him...but I'm just telling you knowing Alden, and we all know what a square he is about this stuff, I think there's zero chance he'll ever so much as touch a coach with a show cause on his resume, ever.
