As much as it pains you all to hear this.. I can promise Josh Henson is a serious candidate if all goes well and Pinkel retires in 3-5 years.
This doesn't pain me at all. If Henson can recruit and the team wins I would be fine with him as HC. As long as we can start landing recruits.

Nothing pains me anymore. I've been a Mizzou fan all my life.
I quit feeling pain somewhere between 1989 and 1997.

I doubt you will see the "Coach in Waiting" tag put on Henson. That tag would put him under the same recruiting restrictions that the head coach has, removing him from being able to go out recruting as much as you need him to be out.

I'd prefer to build Mizzou from the inside. I'd love for Henson to be the next HC and be successful. There is something to be said for being home grown and successful.
Yes, I know he didn't play at Mizzou but we have taken him from a line coach to a potential HC someday. That is enough growing at Mizzou for me.

I am with you on this. Stability is a good thing to have in a program...if he's good.

I would be happy with Henson as well. That would mean the team is improving, particularly the offense, and the team is winning for GP to finish out his contract. All of that would mean Henson is doing a solid job as well. With Henson growing on the job, in a few years time, I think he might be ready and he'd be familiar with the program. Less of a complete overhaul if someone else came in.
