So you must agree that beating a 6-6 Auburn is a signature win. By that logic will we have a signature win when we beat Tennessee later this year?

I hear you, but it is what it is. Tennessee did just beat a team that has two top 15 wins under their belt and in all likelihood still wins 7 to 8 games. And they did it at home. Its hard to shite on this win for them when a lot of people made so many excuses for our loss to USC just last week.

I agree with you overall, the thing is no matter how one crafts the narrative our program still can't point to a win comparable to what Tennessee just did. We can only argue Arkansas in 2016, maybe.

Since the SEC is such hot garbage there should be no reason Odom doesn't win 6-8.

I do not agree beating Auburn this year is a signature win. It wouldn’t be for us. It isn’t for Tennessee.

But it may mean that Tennessee is another L for us.

All of this is pretty much speculation and we’ll have to play the games. You’ll continue to move the goalposts. But the reality will be pretty plain by the end of the year to most people.

Mullen beat a top 10 team in his first year
Pruitt beat a top 25 team in his first year
Muschamp beat a top 20 team in his first year at USC
Moorehead beat a top 10 team in his first year
Mason beat a top 25 team in his 3rd year

Maybe Odom can do it by 2020. He should have beat Georgia in 2016 but decided to shite the bed in the last 5 minutes. Typical Mizzou performance under his watch.

I think Auburn will be lucky to get to 6 wins, but who knows.

It will all play out and any reasonable person will form an opinion at the end of the year.

Maybe.

Question: Can you say with greater than 50% confidence Missouri beats Auburn at Jordan Hare in 2018?

I can't.

I think I'm the most upset that Mizzou basically killed its East chances by losing a winnable game against USC.

Will Georgia lose 3? I doubt it but now it doesn't matter if they do or not.

Yes, the situation is disappointing in hindsight. At the beginning of the year most people had georgia and alabama as losses, with many counting south carolina in the loss column too. If you told me at the beginning of the year our loss to Georgia would be mostly self inflicted I'd count that as progress.

Any coach we get to Mizzou is going to be a gamble. We are never going to hire a proven coach. And honestly, IDK why a good head coach would want to go to a little eight school. The shite show Mizzou was in to hire a coach didn't help. Plus Pinkel never recruited comparable to SEC levels. We've only had two really good years in forever. I think Odom is improving in baby steps. Close wins and close losses are better than blowout losses we were racking up last year. Maybe Odom is an unfortunate slow starter and we start cleaning up again in the second half of the season like last year. Maybe not, maybe it is a shitshow the rest of the season. But honestly, I don't understand the gnashing of teeth when all signs are pointing up compared to last year. If the season ends poorly I get it, but this seems a touch premature.
