he is still a Freshman. Franklin is so far ahead of Mauk (as he should be) when healthy. I have so many close friends and facebook friends who are on Mauks nuts and want him starting the rest of the year. They said Franklin sucks and blah blah blah. I just let them win the argument because I cant take their bickering anymore. We win at ole miss with a healthy franklin and I dont think we do with Mauk there. just my take. I guess Im a Franklin guy.

I'm a Franklin guy too, but I'm a real Franklin guy, if bullshite half hurt Franklin shows up, yank him and put Mauk in.

Franklin is # 1 when healthy. But whoever can secure the win, should play. Mizzou has been lucky that Mauk has been able to keep us in the conversation.

Yessir. A Berkstresser Mauk is not.
Hopefully, Franklin plays enough against UK to knock the rust off, while not re-injuring himself.

Mauk's numbers have been "ok", particularly considering that he's a RSF. However, there is no comparison between the 2 as they stand now.
In the 5 games before he was injured, the team averaged 281.4 yards in the air, completing 68% of his passes. The team averaged 3 punts per game.
In Mauk starts, the team averaged 235.67 yards and he completed 46% of his passes. The team averaged 6.67 punts per game.
Respectable numbers for Mauk, but the team was a lot more efficient under Franklin. Franklin averaged 1 additional TD per game in the air.
Like what others have said, whoever gives us the best chance of winning. I think that's Franklin until he proves otherwise at this point.

Franklin is clearly the better QB at this point. But it's really not a fair compairison. Why? It all comes down to experience. Franklin is more at home and has a better feel than Mauk right now. But as Ive said before, Franklin didn't set the world on fire either when he first took live game snaps. It was also in a different enviroment. There were flashes, just like with Mauk.

It's also not a fair comparison because of the level of competition that was faced by both QBs. Franklin only played vandy and 3 quarters of UGA. Mauk has had to face UF, scar and Tennessee
Having said all that i still think Franklin gives us our best shot to go to Atlanta when healthy

Always good to remember this. I remember young Franklin taking snaps and thinking "meh." Mauk has definitely shown some flashes.
