My best friend who explains football to me like Navynuke on steroids just chewed me out about Pribula.
1. It's possible the game hasn't slowed down for him. He hasn't played much, at PSU he was a gadget guy so no need to read a defense.
2. He's been going downhill for 3 games. It's called film and a whole staff of SEC level defensive coaches planning against him.
3. His time at PSU means nothing. He has zero experience overcoming what a DC has planned for him all week.
4. You can't measure cognitive ability in practice. Kids peak physically in HS sometimes. Same happens mentally. Coaches hope a qb can process info quickly, but the vast majority cannot and never play much. It isnt the "arm" that fails most qb recruits, its the mind.
5. Pribula has shown who he is when the game slows down. Against less physical competition, he made the throws, showed good mechanics and confidence. The game will slow for him.
6. It hurts Auburn's soul to lose at home, at night in front of a sold out crowd to upstart Mizzou. They gave us their best shot and our DL put them down. That's a hell of an accomplishment.

I agree with your friend.
Kirby hasn't been earning his keep the last 2 weeks and Pribula is paying most of the price.

I like hope.
But part of me wonders what we could do with the rumored $1.6 mill in the transfer portal. I thought Auburn's QB had a lot of talent.

Funny you should say that. Freeze said in his press conference he considered pulling his QB for being ineffective. It's all a matter of perspective.

It almost felt like both qb's were mirroring their play throughout the night.
I'm in the Pribula camp of letting him develop.

Jackson was definitely making mistakes. But he also hit his receivers' hands plenty of times. I liked his ability to see the field better.
But yeah, I had no emotional stake in what he's doing.
I do hope your friend is right.

He's not playing that great and we're still winning yes the Alabama game was winnable but he's at his infancy so it's going to take some time and hopefully not too much longer

Beau had a good enough game Saturday despite the 2 interceptions. Auburn was in his face when he made some throws. He took a beating and got the win for the team.
He passed for 23/40 for 252 yards against a good defense. There were some good throws in that 252 yards. He made a difference in the game by running the ball.
I remember some LSU fans were unhappy with Jaden Daniels when he was a first year starter.
I am more concerned about the blueprint opposing defenses have now of stopping Hardy and Roberts and making Beau beat them passing. I hope there is a better way to counter that blueprint than what we have seen the last 2 games.

Why issue with Beau throwing 4 ints the last 2 games is that he's throwing a ton of picks while not making difficult throws. If he was throwing down field and losing 50/50s whatever, but its still easy or short throws largely that are getting picked.
