I don’t see BO hiring rookie coordinators on both sides

I have lots my thought that BO wants to remain heavily involved in the defense. Huepel leaving may change that.

If BO promotes a guys like Finley or Elarbee, he almost has to look for an established DC.

But if he hires a guy like Freeze, then promoting Walters to DC and remaining involved in the defense is still an option.

Troy Walters is looking for a job. Has not been hired by Nebraska (that I know of) and we know Heuple will call his own plays. Living in Memphis I watched both Memphis vs. UCF games this year and both teams play an offense very similar to ours.

We have better RB's and TE's than both teams. Walters could step in and keep it purring like a cat. Drew Lock might stay because he does not have to learn offense number 3 in his college career.

How much of the UCF offense was Walters and how much was Frost?

If it was Walters it’s odd that Frost isn’t taking him to Nebraska

frick it I'm applying. I've watched every game and believe I could succeed.

My plays would consist of TEs down the seam.....repeat.....repeat......RB off tackle.....back to the TE.......throw in a few 'go' routes and we've scored 60.....pretty easy.

Walters may have been angling to be the next HC at UCF.

Now, does Heupel want to retain him?

Add in Shannon and that would be a solid coaching staff.

OC Mizzou should try and get Jake Spavital from West Virginia.

Similar style as Heupel and he has coached some really talented college QB’s.

He has coached in Texas, Oklahoma, California, and WV. Played football at MO State.

He signed a three year deal in January for $500k per year.

We surely could throw a nice offer his way if we had interest.

Jake was basically an assistant coach at Mo State. He sit the bench, but called in a lot of the plays from the sideline.

I rather have Troy Walters of UCF if Heupel doesn't keep him on there or Frost doesn't take him to Nebraska with him. I would also consider TE coach Finley who came up on the Baylor offense.

My theory is if we don't hear anything by Jan 1st, then BO has Troy Walters lined up, and won't announce until after their bowl game. Just my theory.

Hiring Freeze would be like hiring Bob Stoops for DC. Good coaches with baggage and a short stay. Stoops would be good if Odom was fired mid season and for recruiting.
