I'm saying that Odom and Grinch knew how to prep their room and that Walters isn't good enough.

I have been happy with the improvements I have seen from Walters and his group. I think they will take another step towards being a good secondary next season.
We do need a consistent pass rush in order for the pass defense to really improve though.

50% of the passes completed have went for 10 yds or more. 20% have went for 20 or more. 20 TDs and 5 INTs with 2 to play.
They were at 44% and 16%, allowing 20 TDs and had 12 INTs last year.
You aren't seeing improvements.

There’s no pass rush this season. Coverage is better by the secondary. The linebackers are still bad in coverage. 2 of the 3 TD passes by Shurmur were because of Garrett. The third was just a great throw and catch as Acy had good coverage.
Scoring against Mizzou is down 4 ppg this season. That’s improving.

Scoring is down because they have allowed 8 Rushing TDs instead of 27.
The secondary is bad because they are poorly coached.

Guess we can disagree. My opinion on pass defense is that it takes all 3 levels together to be good. The LBs are about the same as last year in coverage, which was poor. The DL doesn’t come close to getting as much pressure as last season. The CBs are much better in coverage compared to a year ago. Safety play isn’t as good, but I think that’s more a talent/experience issue from losing both starting safetys.
Find a pass rush next season and the pass defense will improve a lot. Without a pass rush it will stay about the same.

The LBs are dealing with about 5 targets on their coverage responsibilities per week, which isn't making or breaking anything. The guys they are covering aren't the ones chewing up the secondary week after week. Knox, Ridley, Samuel, Jeudy, Bowden, and Lipscomb never had a LB line up on them.

Acy was pushed off by the receiver on that td.

You're high. I don't care if there is improvement from dogshit to slightly less dogshit. Our DB's are horrible. They can't cover. They literally trip over their own feet. They can't tackle and when they do it is usually up around the shoulders, allowing the WR to break free.
Maybe it's because they're young. Maybe it's not. But they are not good.

My son talked me out of the poetry reading and got me to take him and daughter to the game. What is not accounted for is how many blown coverages there were that the Vandy QB never picked up on. I can't tell you how many times I said "Oh shite!!!!" just to be followed by "Thank God he didn't see him!!!!".

Ryan Walters is garbage.
Derek Dooley is garbage.
The night before the game, one of the players said he was expecting Saturday to be a shite show. His words. Not mine. When I learned of this, the only thing I could think of is why would a player think this. Before a game. Against Vandy. At home.
The only thing I could think of was that it must have been a shitty week of practice, which is on Walters. On Dooley. Ultimately on Odom.

Every win is something to build on. Mizzou didn’t play great, came out pretty flat. Had a bad snap that cost Mizzou a chance at taking an 8 point lead with 1:30 to go. Against Kentucky and SC the defense didn’t make the plays to get the win.
Theoretically, I guess even every loss is something to build on. They did come out flat. I put that on Odom and company not being able to refocus the team curing the week after UF.

I don't know. He seemed to be right on to me. The good news is we still got the win.
And he has a name.

If that is accurate, that is pretty scary.

Not surprised you don't find it concerning.
