What is everyone’s feelings on the season?Picked 13th by the media, but 5th in KenPom

The middle of the SEC looks jumbled again.

Can this team make a tournament run? Please...

Not this year, next year will be the year. Our ball handlers have to mature and run the offense

20-12 middle of the pack in the SEC. we will have to watch the bubble to see if they make the NCAA tournament.

From what I have seen middle of the pack, which isn't bad. NIT easily and a decent shot at the NCAAT.

If it isn't a tournament team then CM best be on the hot seat.

Feel free to call me that nega-Tiger again, but I would guess that 7th is on the high side. Likely not much different than last year. Probably 9th-11th in the SEC. 7th might get them on a bubble watch. 9th-11th and maybe the NIT.

So you don’t think the players coming back from last season will be improved? Or that the addition of Dru Smith will make the team better?

Mizzou is in the top 2-3 in the SEC in experience.

Keep a eye open for Kobe Brown. He might surprise a few people. Give this team until mid-season to put it all together and play like a team.

they'll be better. Just not sure how much, and how much time it will take them to jell, and if Tilmon can play more than 15 mins without fouling out, and if Gonzo can recruit another big man

I don’t think that’s negative. I’m not sure what finish to expect because I think the middle 8-10 SEC teams are all about the same. Will probably take some breaks to finish in the upper half of that group and be in the discussion for the tournament

The SEC tiers this season

Best teams
Kentucky
Florida
Middle of the pack teams
Everyone else
Worst team
Vandy

Get 1 or 2 breaks and Mizzou can finish 3rd or 4th. If those go the other way then 10-12 is on the table.

I agree with that. There is probably not a whole lot of difference between the #5 and #12 teams for instance.

Probably right about the middle third or so. We're no where near the top tier and shouldn't be near the bottom tier. From there, I guess it depends on how much the experience helps wubilli. I'll believe they've improved when I see that they've improved.

And not saying it's a bad thing but just noticed or I forgot but Porter was moved to Director of Player Development. No longer an assistant coach.

our guard play will most likely be one of if not the best in the SEC if mark smiths injury doesn't set him back, Dru continues what he has done, and Watson continues where he left off. Ive also been hearing Pinson has been much improved since the end of last season. This doesn't even take Mario into account, who I was super impressed with last year at V.

BUT. my fear of the front court still looms. Tilmon is good when hes on the court, but we all know why hes not. other than him, we dont have anyone yet that we know about. Im hearing good things about Brown, but who knows if that translates, nikko is nikko, the juco is another random player who i expect little to nothing from and Jackson could be like brown and come on late, but still who knows. also mitch who is a guard in a bigs body. Still not enough there for me to feel comfortable. What Im saying is another big has to show up this year and be productive for this team to be good. I think 10th is worst case unless injuries happen, I think 5th is ceiling.

Starters

Mark
Dru
Pickett
Brown
Tilmon

very interchangeable, but tilmon needs help, and Pickett can go SF and Brown a hybrid forward.
