I'm a bit torn on the playcalling. We hired
Drink because of his winning attitude and his playcalling. If his OC is more of a coordinator for how the offense will work, but Drink calls plays, maybe.
Also, no OC has meant we could have an extra position coach during this time.

I don't think we can't say anything about Drink's play calling until we get a qb that can unlock his offense. It's basically give it to Badie, be the coach that took Badie to the #1 rush record for Mizzou at this point.

Curious how much the opinion of Drink would've changed had SC made that comeback and won... thoughts? Questions? Quandaries?

For Beamer, I feel he would already have SEC COTY wrapped up had we beaten Mizzou. He can still get it with a win over Dabo the Clown though. And just Year 1..

The only way opinion changes about Drink is after 5 years of excellent recruiting he is still only winning 5 to 6 games.

I probably wouldn’t have changed my mind that much. You were in the game because our gimp QB had a brain fart.

And we lost our first fumble.

We have got to put things in perspective. Dan Mullen played to lose. Mizzou played to win and got lucky as hell in the end. We beat a down LSU team last year and a down Flordia team this year. If you guys think about it, this level of performance by the team isn't that far off from last year. I still agree that next year is the year we know who he is.

Also, don't mistake by keeping Bazelak in there as a good decision. It worked out but before that throw, he was having an abysmal game.

Florida lost to Alabama by 2 points. LSU lost to alabama by 6 points. Arkansas lost by 7 points. Do you really think that is saying Arkansas is that much better? I do not think so. They are much better team from last year. Mizzou can compete with Arkansas. It all depends if the players are healthy and not hurt and play well. Next year should be a lot better. Drinkwitz is getting the hang of the SEC teams. He is still learning. If he is making progress then he should be continuing that next year. I didn't see that from Odom. It was either the same or worst. Odom wasn't improving the recruiting class each year. It was about the same and wasn't good enough to compete in the SEC. There was some players but need to get players at all position to be at SEC level to compete. Drinkwitz doesn't have the full roster to compete at the SEC level. It takes time to build a football team. Getting some good ones this class then gwet some more in the next class for other position and good backups and depth. No way most coaches can just win with mostly 3* players on the team in the SEC.

There is a lot to unpack on your post but I think we can safely say that Florida is not who they were when they played Alabama. The Arkansas game is tomorrow so you'll get your answer. I just don't see Mizzou competing with Bazelak in as qb especially against that defense.

As far as the Odom thing goes, everyone knows where I stand. He had a bad string of luck... Odom's last year had a pretty loaded team and the team gave up on Kelly Bryant more so than Odom IMO.

Mizzou got blownout by florida Florida and lost to Wyoming! The point is Drinkwitz should be a much better HC than Pinkel by his ability to win games he shouldn't. Pinkel did to but he wasn't able to fit the mold as a great HC when it only last a short time then falls right back at the bottom. Most great HCs loses a game or three but not go on losing more than 5 games in a season after winning the division or keep it as a 8, 9, snd 10 win season. Look at Nick Saban never had a losing season after he got the team wining regularly. That is what you need to keep from losing that many games after you build the program up and keep it respectable on a down year. That is where the top dogs are still winning 9, 10, 11. and 12 games year in and year out. Needed good backups and depth. That is why I say wait until Drinkwitz gets 4 years in and see if he can keep the team strong yearly.
