Ellarbee OL B+
- Run blocking was probably only ok, but the pass pro was quite good actually. Considering he had the thinnest, most inexperienced group on the field I thought he did great.
Heupel QB B-
- I thought both QBs played fairly well. Especially Lock and Zanders was more or less used in situations where he can help. Still way too low on the completion % for Lock but he was hurt by several drops and forced to throw more than we wanted to.
Ford RB C
- RBs were mostly meh for the game, but Ross came on a bit at the end. Pass pro was good and the only gaffe was the Crocket fumble.
Cross LB C-
- LBs were just ok. Missed too many tackles but Scherer was solid and Newsom also did a good job in coverage.
Brown CB C-
- again, just ok but Penton made a nice play on the ball for the interception. Gibson's PI was a killer and totally unnecessary. Cheadle played well, I thought
Walter S C-
- Wilson PI hurt, but I didn't like that call. Sherrils played a good game as he normally does.
Finley TE D+
- Didn't do much, the run blocking was not great and somehow managed to get two illegal man downfield calls.
Hill WR D
- Way too many drops. A couple plays were made but need to be way better.
Shipp DL F
- WTF Jackie? No, no, no. That was not at all who we are. Way too much talent and quality depth here for that kind of performance. Fix this shite now.

I guess my question is......... How long does BO let the D go, before he steps in and takes a more active role?
I'm definitely not calling for that now, after just once game.
However, as you stated, there is far too much talent and depth here, for even one game of this type of poor play.

I guess it all depends on what your reference point is. If it is in comparison to last years performance or if it is compared to where you'd like to see the program when competing for division/conference championships. I tend to use the latter so as to not lose sight of what expectations should be.
C at best. Lock had a bit more time but there was still a number of break downs. Run blocking was better than last year but still a long way to go.
C+ - I like the up tempo but that only works if you can get first downs. Otherwise your D is just on the field faster. Part of what drags him down is I don't know if it was his calling or Lock's that targeted Moore 23 times. No one on this team should be targeted that many times.
C - I still think they're slow hitting the hole. Didn't really try to stretch it wide very often, outside of using Zanders. Maybe not Ford's fault, but our backs go backwards when hit instead of moving the defender backwards.
Can't argue a C-. It wasn't a shite show, but some pretty poor tackling at times and I have to believe some of the coverage issues fall on the LB's.
I thought the backfield showed flashes but we also had flashes where we just blew coverages. Guys just wide open. Again, several times where guys broke their ankles without putting a hand on the ball carrier. Showed glimpses though.
I'd probably give him a C or C-. I bump him up because of Culkin's reception. Well designed/executed. We need to see more of this from Huepel.
Can't argue the D. Would have given him an F except for Black. Moore shouldn't be put on the field. Force Lock/Huepel to focus on someone else. And it wasn't just Moore that had balls dropping from their chest.
Pretty much can't argue this one either.

Every coach on Defense gets an F. That was embarrassing. Penton was the only one to show up yesterday. Everyone on offense gets a C- but Ellarbee who gets a B-

Offensive line was way better than I expected. They were extremely inexperienced, playing on the road.
They paved a few lanes and protected the QB decently.
Lets not pretend this is the 2014 cowboys oline talent

really can't get any idea until about week 5 or 6

eh, im not onboard with that. His substitution of Lock with Zanders on that drive in which Lock was stringing together some throws downfield at an important time of the game was a costly mistake. Also, the nonuse of ross in the redzone is another problem i had with him.
I wouldn't give him anything over a c- personally.

I was specifically referring to them only as position coaches.
I thought Zanders added a bit of a spark when inserted. I didn't like them doing it mid drive though. I agree with you there.

I thought the staff was overmatched from the jump.
I'm not sure who's call that was to bring Zanders in on that drive, but it was a killer. That needs to never happen again.
The defensive gameplan seemed geared towards a pro style offense rather than an Air Raid one. No excuse for that. I was afraid that the shift in defensive philosophy would be a problem, and it was. We'll see how it works out going forward. Not too many well oiled offenses like that on the schedule from here on out.
D Coaches: D
The offense is still learning the ropes it seems. I like the HUNH look, but 3 and out in 15 seconds is going to be the death of this team. No defense can deal with that sort of shite.
O Coord: C-
The WRs simply can't catch the ball. They would all be great DBs. Black needs to be the go to guy, the rest of them need to be best friends with the Juggs machine. Culkin looked solid as well.
WR Coach: F
The RBs look terrible. The lack of vision/between the tackles ability coupled with the OLs run block skills are a complete disaster.
RB/OL: Combined grade of D, pass blocking brought grade up from F
I'll chalk up the kicking woes to nerves. Unexcuseable, but likely the reason. That kid can kick, but like anything else, there is a learning curve with the speed of the game.
ST Coach: Incomplete
All in all there were some little things that I liked, much improvement to be had though. We'll be able to see if this staff can correct the correctable issues. That will make a big difference going forward.
WVU is a well coached team, with a leader at QB. That goes a long way against a team of greenhorns.
If next week is not a blowout, with marked improvement, it's time to worry. Regardless, 7 wins is this teams high water mark, Vegas is spot on with the 5.5 O/U win line.

I'm afraid you all haven't adjusted to the new normal at Mizzou. A good year will be mediocrity. Once you accept that, grades become irrelevant.
My apologies if this offends any SJWs or emo students.

Don't know, but he won't be here anymore.

Everyone gets an F other than the QB coach for the first week. Lock looked much more comfortable and Zanders was OK as a runner.
Everything else was terrible.
