Because he can't get those classes at MO, and if he couldn't win it all with those classes he has no chance at MO

But he could...Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois always have some top-end guys but Pinkel has never been able to snag them. Richt will be able to, especially when he starts winning.

Also, no Mizzou fan should be expecting National Championships right now. Winning 10 games a year should be our top priority until we become a consistently good program. I'm not saying we should be looking for less than National Championships, but being ranked every year is good enough for us right now.

Richt may be the best candidate but don't expect his recruiting classes to be any better than GP's. He's not gonna put more guys into the NFL than GP and I suspect his records won't be much better than GP's either.

I don't know about that.

He has those relationships in SEC country, he has laid those inroads and he is known as a top tier guy that coaches would want their kids to have the opportunity to play for.

That would translate to some success in those recruiting battles

Agreed, the expectations currently are absolutely astonishing talking about NC's an everything else, this program isn't at that level for those expectations, and never has been.

Sorry, he couldn't even win at Georgia.

Richt won a Conference Championship at UGA which is some thing Pinkel couldn't do at Mizzou.

10 years ago. The biggest concern with Richt is the hires he has made for his coordinators. The last being little Schotty.

So with the benefit of your 15+ years of watching Richt how do you think he would do at Missouri as a coach and recruiter? Do you think he could come close to duplicating his success here?

I think he would do just a tick less than he's done here, just based on the nature of the 2 programs. I don't mean this as an insult in the slightest way, I promise, but I just feel like you're going to have higher highs, and more often, at UGA than missouri.

Looking at pinkel's tenure he's had 5 10-win seasons in 15 years (although much of that is irrelevant due to being in a different league). 2 10-win seasons here sandwiched between 2 5-7s. I'm not going to say he'd have you in the SECCG every year, but I'm almost certain that those 5-7 type seasons would disappear. I could see him winning 7-8 games a year MINIMUM wiht a 10/11 win season thrown in every so often.

I dont' think he'd ever lead you to the playoffs, but that speaks more to the depth of the league than anything else. And I mean hell, we never made it either so it's not a knock on yall.

As far as recruiting, I think yall would see a major surge. Pinkel is known for taking less heralded guys and coaching them up. I think you would see an influx of better talent with Richt.

But....all this is just guesswork since I highly doubt he goes to missouri anyway lol
