This is getting hard to watch... close enough for me to have hope. Just so my heart can be ripped out every game

Seems just like a lot of KA games.

Not really. Results aren’t all that dissimilar. But with Kim’s teams, we were rarely in games at the 5 minute mark.

Man y’all are going to hate the next 2.5 seasons. With Cuonzo’s contract I don’t see how he’s not here until April 2022.

You like .500 basketball?
That’s a you problem.
I’m fully expecting him to be here 3 years.

No I just understand his contract. With the contract he has he will be here u til the 2021-2022 season.

Can’t be fired at the end of this season.
Can be after the 2021, but not until May of 2021. That’s late to be making a coaching change. He will also have a $6 million buyout in May 2021. He would have to have a bad KA type of season to make that move.

I also think it takes longer than 3 years to rebuild if you aren’t getting dirty in recruiting. Mizzou hasn’t chosen to get into that.

Very likely, but I’ll just tune out as much as possible.

Haven’t been to a hoops game this year and usually go to 5+ every year. Never went an entire year not going to a game even during the KA era.

I fully understand his contract.
I also fully understand that after year 1 of radically over performing, he has radically underperformed.

I'll just pick some data points from KA's last year with 5 minutes or less left in the game:

@UGA 6pt game
AU lost by 5
Ole Miss 6 pt game
@MSU 7pt game
USC 7 pt game
@TAM lost by 3
Vandy 6 pt game
Bama lost by 3
UK 6 pt game
@Ole Miss lost by 3

I think people are starting to revise history. Being in the games at the 5 minute mark is very common, even for TERRIBLE teams. The margin between good and bad in P5 basketball isn't that much.

I will reiterate that this team is looking very much like KA teams. Competitive for 35 minutes and that is about it.

KA’s teams played hard and are very similar right now. Both played good D. Need players to push over the cusp.

KA teams didn’t play good defense and had no spacing or purpose to their offense.

Cuonzo teams player borderline great defense. Offense has good spacing, the team is just slow on their decision making. And yes is missing a guy that you know is getting his every game.

I just saw a quote from one of our players saying they don’t need to score more. They just need to play better D.

They’re fricked. So very fricked

If we closed out better versus Tennessee, we would’ve only lost by 4.

Think about that!!

Or made some layups. Mizzou was 10-29 from 2. Many were not contested.

being ranked 144th in field goal percentage is not helping

Spacing doesn't matter when you are standing around being guarded. They can't create enough open looks and even when they get them, they are shooting a terrible percentage.

it is a poorly coached team. More experience only seems to worsen the offensive production.

Clearly there is a problem with how Cuonzo coaches offense. Not just here, but over the course of his career. But hey, he met all of sterk's criteria
