QB-I thought Franklin played solid, particularly in the short to medium range game. His decision making wasn't great on the longer throws but I think that is easily fixable. I thought he was otherwise making sound decisions. The other thing I noticed(unless I flat out missed it), was that Mauk got ZERO reps and I was ok with that. I felt forcing a series or 2 with Mauk was breaking up any chemistry/momentum we had going. Could this be a signal that the days of Mauk being the presumptive starter in the future are over? Too early to tell I guess.

RB-I really like our stable of RB's. If one doesn't get you, the next will.

OL-I thought they did a decent job. I fully expect them to get better as the year goes on. Did Copeland even play? I wasn't paying close attention so I'm not sure.

On the defensive side, and the real reason for my post, is the adjustments made by Steckel at half. Not just adjustments, but a whole sale change in the defense we were running.

My only other thought on the defensive side is that I'm close to becoming a believer that a true freshman, Penton, might be our best option opposite Gaines.

Any other thoughts?

This is what really got me excited. IU could have gained some momentum out of the half. However, the adjustment was made, and it was a three and out.

Then, by god, we played ball control for most of the half. Keeping the d rested.

This was like the anti-2010 Texas Tech game. I believe we lose, or come close to losing, this game in years past.

If this is what we do now, then what we do will work.

Pretty sure Mauk took the knee at the end.

Sadly, I only got to see bits and pieces of the game. I need to catch a replay. But from the parts I saw, I agree with you, reedus. I liked what I saw from the defense, loved our RB play too. I hope to see us win 8 games this year, perhaps 9.

I'm still not sure about 8-9 wins. However, I'm starting to think its possible.

I will adjust my preseason prediction of 6-6 to 7-5 based on Saturday. I think we steal a win in the SEC that I wasn't expecting.

The other thing I noticed. Where was Culkin? I don't even think he played the first half. For being so high on him, he's been a non factor in the receiving game at least.

I think I seen him blocking at the line of scrimmage. I am fine with that. We have plenty of receiving weapons. Extra blocking will help them. One thing I notice is it looks more and more every week that DGB is getting better. Running routes, using his hands, and adjusting to the ball. Evident by his best game in terms of production. And with him getting better I think it has made Lucas better. Our pass rush still concerns me. But the defense is making waaaaaaay more plays this year than last.

Considering we hardly if ever blitz, I thought they brought decent pressure from our down linemen. Just tough to get tons of pressure without bringing someone.

Anyone aware of a replay coming up on this? I only saw a couple of clips.

Great win! If they continue to roll it's going to be a fun season.

I'm doubting we get a replay because it was on Big Rusty network and we all know they will not be showing a replay of that asswhooping on their conference network.

However if I do hear or see one I will post it in here. I did watch this week in Mizzou football and it must've been game tape taken by their staff because it was up in the rafters, nothing like the view we had on Saturday

I don't know how it works or if it works, but if you scroll down a bit, for the Mizzou and Indiana game, you can click replay or highlights. I don't know if that replays the whole game or replays just the highlights.

623 yards gained on Indiana is the most ever Indiana in their history has ever given up. Pretty impressive stat.

He didn't, Gatti started in his spot.

Has anyone heard anything about Gatti's status? He limped off the field towards the end of the game.

Also, the Max Hall (the Ole Miss transfer) get any time? I forgot to look while I was watching the game.

This game made me really consider that Henson is not even showing half of what this offense can do. It seems they are working DGB into the game plan more every game. It's good for him to learn to block because it's a required at the next level. He could enter a draft a well rounded reciever. But I think that Henson is just running an easy to run offensive game plan for these non con games, almost dumbed down. I think we'll see something different when we enter conference play.

From what I watched against IU, Mizzou is looking pretty good. They need to work on a few things, namely Franklins downfield decisions. Throwing into double coverage is suicide for an offense. Just better decisions on when to pull the ball down and just run when it's there and the down field is not. I know he will have to make decisions much faster when conference play starts also. If it's one thing SEC defenses found out about Franklin from last year is if you can pressure him enough, he will run too much or make a mistake. So the O-line I hope can shore up some gaps too. We have'nt seen everything this offense can do yet, and I don't think we've seen really what the defense can do either.

I think we can beat Vandi and Florida. I think Mizzou can make it a game for Georgia also.
