I heard a lot of people saying that Mizzou didn't deserve to win the SEC championship this year. B/c it was only your second year in the SEC.

I fell that y'all did gain alot of respect this years form the other top SEC schools and fans.
Y'all had a very good offense and kept winning games even after your star QB went down.

So, I wanted to say good year and I am glad that y'all have came in to the SEC and made it tougher.
I hope y'alls program stays one of the top competitors in the SEC.

Thanks. Classy post. I don't know if we gained respect or not, but it sure was a fun year. Can't wait until next year!

They already had our respect no matter what any other Aggies say. We knew they were good. It's just another glaring example of how the bevo 12 can hold someone down. Congrats Mizzou.

More respect, but we're not on the mountain top. We need to do it again next year.

Danielson has already been on Brando telling everyone we got lucky, and it won't happen again.

I think the defense gained more respect than anything, notwithstanding the Auburn game. I think The SEC thought our offense could score some points but most didn't think we would have an SEC-level defense for years; Mizzou having 3 players All-SEC Defensive First Team and the SEC Defensive POTY did a lot to dispel that notion I think.

It wasn't SEC fans saying Mizzou didn't belong. Mizzou was unanimously accepted into the SEC.
Did Mizzou garner more respect for themselves and the SEC this year? Absolutely.

Thanks. I was thinking on the way home today what an exciting year it was and to do it in the SEC! Sweet...

Spectating at the self-absorbed machinations unfolding in Austin and realizing it has ZERO impact on us is like living in another world. Poor kU and the XII dwarfs are stuck in their indentured servitude to Big Bevo, while Mizzou and A&M are free, free at last! lol

Thanks again for the well wishes.

We've got to beat OK St yet. Otherwise, the argument will be the SEC < bigbevo and that Mizzou is making the SEC look bad by comparison.

If we can win the SEC East AND win the Cotton Bowl...that should turn a few heads.

We still have a lot to play for this year.

I think some respected us already coming in. Some will never respect us. Of the middle crowd, I think we earned respect from some and others are still on the fence. I think it will have to be done over a number of years before real respect is earned. That's not to say they're competing to win the east every year, but finishing top 3 consistently (meaning you're displacing 2 of UGA/UF/SC or UT each year)and winning it every now and then.

Thanks. I feel that there are a lot of people who's respect we're never going to gain in this league. It is what it is. If people don't like or respect us, it doesn't make a difference. I'll have to admit I'm still pretty bitter about the cold reception to the league up until now...as a fan I have a chip on my shoulder

I think there are a lot of folks breathing a sigh of relief that we lost in ATL.

We'll never gain respect in those peoples eyes. I could care less about it though. In all honesty I relish in the thought of ruining those peoples precious little idea of what the SEC should be.

I hope our team always has a chip on their shoulder. Sometimes, the respect card gets overplayed in sports, but I hope they can always go to the well for a little extra motivation.

I enjoyed being the upstart Yankee carpetbaggers this season, hopefully it continues for years to come.

I always had respect for Mizzou. I think last year was an anomaly.

Agreed. And I like the challenge.

I was reading the weekly Dave Matter chat and he said if Missouri can win the Cotton Bowl, it might be their best season ever. Can't say I disagree, at least not by the eyeball test. Our defense, mental toughness and more assertive running game give this squad the edge in my book.

But winning this Ok State game is a must...

SECG would have been icing on the cake. Cotton Bowl win is a absolute necessity. It will make all the difference in perception for 2014 season! OSU is not to be taken lightly. Just as Mizzou won the final BB Tournament, we must win the Cotton Bowl.

I don't think so.
In a lot of people's eyes we won and watered down east and lost to the only good team in the east (USCe).
They will point to the 2000yds rushing we gave up to Aubie and say that is what happens when we play a real team.
I guess we will see when UGA and UF get healthy.
