On Monday my son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I made him an App to calculate his needed insulin. The app is for Apple or Android.

If the app could help anyone here or someone you know, just email me your number and I will text you the link to download. surgicalvenom@gmail.com

It lets you put in carbs for individual items in your childs meal i.e. Bread 13 carbs, lunchmeat 2 carbs etc. then it adds everything up and calculates based on your childs blood sugar and carb ratios.

This is not a sales pitch!!! I just want to help anyone else who has a child with diabetes. totally FREE!

I am very sorry to hear that. The only member of my family with diabetes now is my cat (cats, by the way, are not fond of getting injections) so the app won't do me much good but it sounds like a great idea.

You might want to mention this on SEC OT, there is a pretty wide mix of folks on there and its a bit more relaxed then the SEC Rant.

Nice. I’ll message my brother. Their daughter has had the diagnosis for four years. There’s been some scary moments, but they’ve made it all work even while living in China.

Hope for good outcomes for you and your family.

Good luck Venom. My wife's sister has Type 1. It is a whole family effort to help the person stay on top of it. It won't slow him down or hold him back as long as he stays on top of it - know that. And technology keeps making things better.

We wish you guys the best.

Thank you, he is doing fine, probably handling it better than the rest of us to be honest.

My 4 year old daughter had back surgery in KC this morning. I’m staying up with her all night tonight.

She is in a lot of pain and keeps asking why a Dr. would hurt you?

Watching your child in pain or going through any type of medical problem is devastating. It breaks my heart every time she cries.

Sorry for what you and your family are going through as a parent and a fellow Mizzou fan.

I am very sorry about your daughter. I hope she will be pain free soon. Health challenges with our children is the worst feeling besides well you know what.

Hang in there, her pain will grow into a bond with you because of your love and support.
