It was an issue last year too. The front 7 doesn't need much help managing the LOS. Yaro is Batoon's guy so he better help him get that room in order.

That game was on the front 7. Gap blocking schemes were always a struggle Kul's read on the run front and Gus ran buck sweep and power all game. The guards had a free run at the LBs amd put the RB one on one vs Matt White.

I thought the bigger issue in that Auburn game was our D-Ends shooting up the field every single play, while Auburn ran the same running play in the gap they created for about, what?, 800 yards???

Play-action can be a bitch to defend for a safety, but it shouldn't be when the other team isn't having success running the ball to begin with. Auburn was gouging us and safeties didn't have a choice but to get nosey. There are no excuses for getting nosey this year. The front 6/7 are wrecking shop.

You're exactly right. The Auburn RB said they spent halftime making adjustments because they thought Mizzou would make adjustments. Then o. The 2nd series, they went back to the 1st half plan.

It was good to see the secondary trying to communicate better. DeLoach seemed to be on track for a starting position in 2024. He looked good yesterday. Wish he could get the start over Norwood.

I have a hard time figuring Pride out. Don't hear his name much except for the 1 or 2 times he gets burnt every game. Does that mean he is doing a great job all the other snaps and that's why he keeps getting put out there?

Pride could be really, really good with a little more discipline. Initially I thought he lacked speed, but he had a track background in HS. So watch his tape and there are small mistakes that allow the WR to run past him. Peeking into the backfield, shoulders turned toward the sideline giving up inside leverage. He tries to make up for these mistakes with pure speed but is usually a step behind. I think he looked better vs UMass.
