In reading several forums and boards, and talking to fellow Mizzou fans, there seems to be confidence that we'll piss pound Texas.

I know Texas is 6-6, but checking closer made me a little more cautious than some.

Texas lost 6 games, 5 of them were by less than 7 points:

#8 USC by 3, K.State by 6, #17 Okie St, by 3, #2 Okie by 5, and 6-6 Texas Tech by 4.

Their other (and worst) loss was to # 13 TCU, 24-7.

While I'd love, LOVE to beat the shite out of those arrogant bastards, I just can't jump in with the "We'll beat 'em by 40" crowd.

Someone tell me there's nothing to fear

No Worries. Their best defensive players are sitting this one out.

I don't know about beating them by 40, but they have one of the worst pass defenses in the country. I have to imagine Lock and Co will have a big day.

Their best players are sitting this one out, and we're getting crockett back.

Their pass D is 108 in the country and their best back is sitting out the bowl and declaring for the draft.

Their rushing offense is terrible. Their rusher with the most yards is their second QB (yes they use 2) with 364 yards. Their two running backs have just over 300 yards each.

Texas' strength is their defense, without their 2 best defensive players potentially, I think we have a great shot to beat them fairly easily.

Many years ago, Texas made a visit to Columbia. The huge chant was Tuck Fexas! Never like them then, and still don’t.

Yeah. I have a feeling this is going to look more like the Arky game than the Vanderbilt game.

Could be, Texas hasn't been very good on offense though.

Their one real strength has been run defense.

Thats just the Standard Mizzou get ready for the kick in the cup/we can't have anything nice feeling. Especially when you know its the perfect revenge game . . .

When the betting lines came out yesterday, Texas was favored by 4.5. I was surprised and bet a decent chunk on Mizzou. A day later, Mizzou is favored by 1.5.

I was kinda thinking along the same lines when I took a closer look at their season record. Quite a few close loses...our defense can tend to keep anyone else in the game too...lets just hope the MU train keep a rolling. Would love to see the Tigers put in to the horns.

Now the line is -3 Mizzou. A 7.5 point swing in 1 day is insane.

I'll root to beat the piss out of them just like everyone else here. Anyone that thinks it's a sure thing is kidding themselves or simply just being a fan.

Reality is, it should be a pretty even game. 3 of those losses were in OT. I think they beat KSU though.

The good news is I think our offense can outscore their offense.

Yeah, I’m going to be there, and hope we absolutely stomp the crap out of them.....but, it will be over a month since we’ve played a game by the time the bowl game rolls around, and that usually effects the offense, and in particular the timing of the passing game. I hope that’s not the case, and if Lock is on, I do think we’ll win pretty easily. Only because when Texas is at full strength they are still like 106 in the nation in pass defense. They possibly will be without 2 of their better defensive players that are not going to participate in the bowl game due to not wanting to get hurt for the NFL draft.

With their best defensive players out we should be fine, although Tx having the 106 rated pass defense won't necessarily keep barry and the boys from running the ball 95% of the time

Even though I hate Texas more than any team in college football. don't underestimate them and the fact that not playing for a month can affect our momentum.

You're right, my bad. They beat KSU 40-34. The loss I missed was to Maryland, 51-41.
