A couple good games, also a few games with 3.2 YPC and 2.1 YPC. Definitely getting more consistent as of late.

I agree with LoutotheZou.
Great story and I like him but he's poor man's RB.
His weakness is blocking. The Vandy guy hurdled him to plant Cook and give them a scoop-6.

He’s the best blocker on the team. That’s why he was always in on 3rd down even when they were splitting time.
Can’t judge off of one play, where the guy just made a freakishly athletic play no less

What did you expect from some fans who just aren't into Drinkwitz and the football team?

He is definitely a 3rd down RB, but has been are best option for the last few weeks/year. He is a good blocker and every player misses blocks. There were 3 guys in the backfield Cook didn’t have a chance. Cook never looked to his right and the guy that caused the fumble isn’t the guy that hurdled Schrader.
Burden is are best offensive weapon, but is the worse blocker that is a starter and probably out of the 2 deep offensive players. He has caused runs to go inside for short or no gains instead of to the outside for long runs. He missed a block against Vandy that Schrader would have scored on, but was forced inside for a 2 yard gain. One of the reasons Burden is not always in on running plays or 3rd down plays.

He is also small and not big enough to block. That might be another reason.

The #1 WR in the country should be able to block.
Burden is a X WR playing on the line. X WR’s are supposed to be stronger and be able to get through a jam at the line. That is one of the reasons some WR’s are put in the slot. It’s not about being small or not big enough. It is probably because he has never had to block against really good high school CB’s and LB’s. (average to below average college players)
It is something he can learn. Right now at times he looks lost when he is supposed to be blocking.

Coming out of high School he was the #1 WR and #3 overall high school player.

It all depends on who is supposed to block. Like a DT that is a lopsided choice to be blocking against someone possible twice the weight and much taller and stronger. If blocking after a teammate catches/run the ball farther down field like a safety or a LB, it is fine. You want to use a TE which is best when lining next to an OL. That is what TE is for. Better use a bigger and taller receiver if not using a TE for one next to OL to help block.

Everyone is expected to be able to block Lefty, and Burden ain't that small. No one is asking him to block a D-lineman.

I really haven't seen any hate. I think he is the best back we have at current.

It all depends on who is the defensive player. It is why a need for an OC to help scheme better option for those who can't or won't block if it is over match. I have seen some running backs trying to block DLs coming straight at the quarterback. It is hard to get it done right but not need to be fully engage. Just enough to give quarterback a few more seconds. I personally didn't realize Drinkwitz didn't have an OC. That is a must to have even though Drinkwitz is still in charge but have someone to give some ideas and eyes to help make it work. Maybe he does have someone I think his name is Scott Linehan.
