I doubt the contract extension dictates he has to hire an OC. That would be a little aggressive to tell the coach "he has to hire" someone. What she did was make money available for a competitive staff.
We as fans wish his contract made him hire someone, but that's not how it works. Contracts are incentives not an ultimatum.

What up with being so negative? I sure hope if Drinkwitz really want to do well as a HC he need to do the right thing and hires a OC. Did you know the quarterback coach left? He definitely will need to hire a coach. Maybe hiring a quarterback coach/OC?

Look, I've been patient because I'm guessing that you are ESL. But how do you get that me writing that Drinks contract extension would NOT include forcing him to hire an OC be me "Being Negative?"

Prediction... Garret Riley comes to Mizzou as OC for 1.2 Million and he brings Mordecai the SMU QB that just entered the portal.
Book it!
Book it!

Nevermind, Mordecai already went to Wisconsin. What is the deal? Why aren't we in play?

Why didn't you contact Drinkwitz for answers? How the heck are we supposed to know?

Garret Riley is the co- OC at SMU. He worked with Drink at App State. He is a perfect candidate. He makes about 700k. Drink could offer him twice his salary to move to the SEC. There is no reasonable reason for this not to be done.
Other than the fact that he’s the OC at TCU and is coaching in the NC game next week?

Did anyone hear what happened to him?

I seriously believe he passed unexpectedly. We're both here in Omaha and would chat from time to time, and then nothing.

What about a Marcus Arroyo
Arroyo has his hands in a lot of programs and recruiting area’s. He is really good at developing young players especially QB’s.
He was the QB coach that developed Justin Herbert at Oregon. Herbert was a local kid from Eugene with no P5 offers. He developed a low 3* into the #6 overall pick in the draft.
2016 helped recruit and coached Justice Hill who ran for 1142 yards his Freshman year and over 1400 yards his sophomore year with 15 TD’s.
In 2013 he became the OC at Southern Miss. He helped develop Freshman Nick Mullens into QB1 freshman that threw for over 4400 yards and 38 TD’s in 2015. Mullens took a 0-12 team in 2012 into 9-5 team in 2015.
In 2011 he was the QB coach for a Pro style offense that passed to Kennan Allen for over 1300 yards
In 2009 he was the QB coach for Austyn Carta-Samuels who he developed into QB1 his freshman year. Later Carta Samuels transferred to Vandy and led them to a 9-4 record. Carta-Samuels was a coach at Mizzou for around 6 years and worked with Drew Lock.
In 2006 and 2007 helped develop Adam Tafralis that holds most of the QB records at San José State
Would be a great coach for Horn and Gabarri.

Absolutely solid resume.
Not that it matters, but Arroyo was recently followed by Gabarri Johnson, Hickey Thompson, EJ Ndoma-Ogar, and Coach Peoples
