Lol how many of those teams had only 2 starters get snaps in the second half?

Our 2 deep has more talent than every team on that list other than wisconsin.

Take the excuses to Wilks' wife. I'm sure she'd care.

Lol two of those teams are also academy schools who run triple option and liberty has been ranked more than we have the last 3 years.

I just looked up the stats and the only team who really stood apart was Air Force with held army to 2.4 yards per carry. Everyone else was mid threes with Missouri at 3.8.

Dude, they gave up like 300 total yards

It wasn’t dominant but it was MILES away from being a “turd”

And I mean, you can call it excuses if you want but dismissing the fact that we were missing a ton of players on D is beyond silly. Just seems like you have an axe to grind

I’m totally ok with the defense’s performance given how depleted it was

Irrelevant with Army's pace of play.

This stat thing is like a whole new world to you, it appears.

That game was a defensive turd (mediocre). No way around it.

There are plenty of ways around it because you are hilariously wrong.

They held them under their yards and scoring avg. again, dominant? No, but to call it a turd is just wildly inaccurate

The defense was good enough. Red zone performance lost the game.

and this stat doesn't work across different games because the pace of play is different. Just look at the lack of possessions in the 3rd quarter. Army wasn't the only one playing slow, so was Mizzou.

If you go look at the advanced stats and the production per play, our defense was middle of the pack compared to what Army has played against this year and none of them were good.

one last observation: I think in this new world order of college football, the Service academies will be more dangerous than ever.

Opt outs - not a concern
NIL distraction - not a concern
on field discipline - got it in spades
off field discipline - not a problem
parents complaining about on field time - nope
players complaining about discipline - drop and give me twenty
Transfer portal - it's the fleet for you son.

You are not gonna out effort them. They're not gonna make the dumb penalties you do. They'll chop block you into the dirt and grind on you. They believe in the system. You can out talent them, but what if your talent does not want to be there?

Spot on. It's kind of like in the early days when college basketball players started leaving for the NBA after 1 year and teams like Wichita State or Gonzaga became year in and year out powerhouses because of senior laden teams that have great chemistry.
