If you think being realistic is being super negative...so be it. I ain't going on tRant and making an arse out of myself talking about Mizzou winning out or whatever.

Barry is like the 18 year old boy whose father retires...so he steps in to run the family business. After a year and a half, the business is about to go bankrupt.

And the kid blames his father for what he left him and he whines that his great grandfather nearly went broke in the store. And a 3rd string merchant in town criticizes him...and that really pisses him off!

Great analogy that I unfortunately had to be a part of an an employee 20 years ago. Can lol about it now.

This is reasonable & I'm wanting Mizzou to succeed as well. I wonder how many were trying to bury Pinkel in '02?

Mizzou lost 35-3 to Purdue.

Pitch forks and torches are well deserved.

Once again, explain how you return 10 starters and do worse on offense. Explain why you changed a top 10 defense in 2016. Explain why your turnover ratio is the worst in the country. Explain why your team has given up more big plays than anyone.

Barry can't, because he doesn't know what the frick he's doing.

I can’t prove it but my bet is this had more to do with Kul having Pitts steal Mizzou’s defensive playbook and sharing it with several SEC schools. It’s amazing the amount of love Kul gets with the way his last 9 months went.

Does Pinkel mention the whole Kul thing at all in his book? I can't believe that Cross was a better DC option.

BO also had to have the approval of Rhoades on his assistants. BO wanted guys like Ivey on his staff, MR vetoed a few of his preferred assistants.

If that is true then why keep a failing coach around. We all want to see Mizzou succeed and it is not happening under Odom. In fact they are regressing. If they at least had some fight or did something well (besides punting) I would give him time. This is big boy football if you don't or can't get it done get him the hell out now. I lived through the shite show of 80's-90's and do not want that time back.

No one is advocating keeping him around barring a massive, unlikely turnaround.

Agreed and most understand that simple fact.

However the sunshine boys will continue to make excuses for BO until Sterk shows him the door........ As they did with KA.

As did I. That's the main reason most of us that did live through those bad times, weren't excited with BO hire.

Being critical of a BS hire, doesn't mean people are hoping for failure.

To the contrary. We want our program to be competitive and win...

That's not happening nor will it happen with this true son failure.

Sunshine and excuses won't change this reality.

Excited as hell about MIZZOU BB. Have faith in Sterk that he will bring in the right coach to turn around this very savable FB program

Odom and Kul didn't get along. No way they were working together with Odom as HC.

It's not love for Kuligowski per se, it's the realization that he WAS DLineZoo.

Where ever the blame lies for the disintegration of the Kul-Odom relationship, it's the one that's going to be chipped on Odom's tombstone at Mizzou.

Is it as simple as Kul being incensed at being passed over for Odom? If so his beef should have been with Pinkel, not Odom. Unless Odom carried himself as an arrogant prick. BTW, I don't disagree with your point on Odom making the change due to Kuligowski e-mailing the playbook around the league. That made sense at the time and still does.

I'd love to know the true story of how that relationship turned sour since it likely changed the course of Mizzou football.

Kul was a very good DL coach, but he wasn’t DLineZou. He had NFL talent on his lines.
2013 for example had 4 guys drafted, just at DE. 3 that are still in the NFL. There is nowhere near that talent right now.

I do think D-Line Zou could come back, but it’s a couple years away. Turner, Whiteside, Williams and Byers have all had a couple plays that show playmaking talent. They are also all freshmen. The good lines under Kul didn’t play many freshmen.

65 P5 coaches declined to make Kuligowski their DC.

There is a reason for it.

By that logic you can also say that there were 169 Division 2 coaches that declined to make him their DC as well. Now that I think about it, there were 169 D2 football programs that refused to make BO a HC...what's that tell us?
