That’s what stretch 4’s do.

Mizzou offered Mark Smith a scholarship yesterday. Transfer from Illinois that Cuonzo wanted over Harris last spring.
It’s interesting in that everything I had heard on transfers was that Mizzou would only take grad transfers.

Could Mizzou get Corey Tate to come back to replace Porter as an assistant. He can help recruit St.Louis area and would have really helped with Carte’Are Gordon if he would have been on the staff this season.

I was hoping papa Porter would stick around longer. I guess he didn’t see eye to eye with Martin.

Porter was here for the sons. It was always expected that he would leave when they leave.

I guess I was being naive then. The younger brothers must be further away than I thought.

Most didn’t think Jontay would be a 1 and done. Had Jontay been a 3 year player and stayed in his original class, then yes the next set of brothers would be available.

Coban the next brother is a sophomore in high school and isn’t considered a P6 recruit at this time. So there’s about a 5 year window before the next two that are looking like top recruits.

I don't see Jontay leaving unless he wants the money to linger around in the developemental league and be a 2nd round pick.

IF IF IF Jontay were to leave...how much does that impact landing Ramey? I'm not sure whatever legit options he's looking at still.

The Porters are too smart and too well connected in NBA circles for Jontay to leave early without knowing he’s getting a guaranteed contract. If he leaves it’s because a team has told him they will take him in the back half of the first round.

I have heard 2 theories on Ramey. Without Jontay Mizzou won’t be as good, so Ramey is less interested. Which would be why Mizzou offered Mark Smith over the weekend. In that contingency Mizzou would also try to find a grad transfer PG to bridge the gap until Smith is eligible.

The other theory is that without Jontay, Ramey would be the guy the team is run through. In that case Smith isn’t an option and Mizzou finds a grad transfer wing to help with immediate scoring. Give Ramey, Watson and Santos a year together to adjust to SEC play.

Doesn't Smith have to sit for a year though?

Yes, that’s why we would take a grad transfer for the bridge year. Because we don’t want to go into the season with Geist and Pinson as the only ball handlers.

No Coban is considered a mid major level recruit. He’s a 6’3 shooting guard that isn’t super athletic.

he will be. A buddy of mine who lives in como and has watched the porters over the last few years is high on him. 2 things: 1) He is a pretty good player already. Hes a SG as of now, but hes starting to learn how the handle the point more. 2) hes expected to grow a bit MPJ was 6'5 as a freshman. Im sure he'll get to at least 6'7. Part of what makes mpj and jontay so great is they learned the guard position before they really grew. Coban has a chance to be a 6'7 Point/shooting guard. That alone will get you onto a college team, even if you're not the best shooter.

Ive only watched coban twice, so im not an expert on the kid. But he has some videos of when he was a freshman that I thought were extremely impressive.

Good informative article about Mizzou and some grad-transfer players(guards) that are available for Mizzou to go after.
