And by the way...I only deal with shiny hooks. I don't mess around with subtlety. It's not the Killz Way...

How long before someone reports on TB rumors of Marshall?
Was waiting for that or a WSU melt down.

Killz would burn down the kingdom if it meant he could be King of the Ashes....

KC Star: Agent: Missouri has not contacted Gregg Marshall about basketball job
The Trib: Marshall's agent says no call yet

Probably went through a consultant and agent. I don't buy that no discussion or contact has taken place. He's too hot a target, and we need a coach like him. Plus, I absolutely believe Alden would try to secure funding through donors before any real contact is made. I bet a number came through quiet channels and they're seeing if they can make it work, but no official contact. No egg on anyone's face then if it doesn't work out.

Like TB has mentioned, the silence is too odd.

The numbers that have been floated to get him to consider it are in the 3mil range

which means we would immediately need to give Pinkel a raise, right?

I would think so.
Other issues.
Marshall reportedly does not like the rebuilding phase. He sees Missouri as being in rough shape for next year. Wichita looks strong for next year.
His son will be in his last year of high school in Wichita.

Which is why I believe Marshall will consider Mizzou.
If the rumor about him remaining in Wichita until his son graduates high school is true, he could transition to Mizzou while his wife remains in
Wichita to prepare her son for high school graduation and to sell the house.
He wouldn't be far away from Wichita, just a short drive, yet he would be at a far more prestigious program making more money.
I imagine that if I was Marshall, I would listen to Mizzou's offer because it's a step up, not far away from Wichita, and it makes sense...if the money is sufficient, of course.

Silence is good. It's real easy to say "No" and everything is done.
Saying "Yes" takes time. Raising funds, negociations, agreement/confirming, legal, timeframes, etc.
It still could be "No" but at least there's signs of mulling it over.

Serious question, how many D2 coaches have successfully transitioned to D1?
