Barry Odom will be lucky to win 5 games this season. I have zero faith in him as a HC

This team is going to lose to Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Tennessee this season.

Mark my words. He is terrible. He will never win me over.

the best part is even if he becomes hugely successful as a HC, we most likely wouldn't lose him.

Don’t underestimate the allure of playing or coaching at a blue blood. I would be happy If BO is successful enough to land a job at one of those schools.

When I say most likely this is what I meant. I don’t see anything close to a Lateral move or even a school with a slightly better program, it would take maybe all but 10-15 schools in which I would say “unlikely”. He wants to be here, this isn’t a stop.

He's slowly but surely winning me over. I give him credit for what he's done so far. Each season has gotten a bit better. Win something of significance and I'll be won over. Starts with winning the East. I don't think winning a bowl game against some middling Big 10 or Big 12 school will win me over but winning the East sure as shite would.

It would be a start. We’ve looked abysmal in bowl games under him. But we have been to two.

I’ve been impressed with his recruiting inroads he’s made. He’s definitely improving in multiple areas.

I liked the hire, although I thought it was a bit early in his career. He probably could have used a HC position for 3 or 4 years in a bit lesser conference first to iron out some of the wrinkles. I'm thinking MU got the guy they wanted and were willing to get in on him ahead of schedule to secure him. I'm liking his development so far. I will give him a B up to this point. Solid work with room for improvement.

Barry certainly had a learning curve becoming a head coach for the first time in the SEC. For the mistakes he has made, I'm not sure the on field results would have been much better in his first two years if a seasoned head coach had been hired.

His decision making is getting better, the locker room is getting better, and the on field results have gotten better every year.

On top of that, the recruiting inroads in Missouri, St. Louis especially, are very good for the program in the long run. If home state talent can stay in state at Mizzou, that should bring more sustainable success.

I haven't always been happy with what Barry Odom has done, but I've always wanted him to succeed here. And, I think he is doing a good job.

Most impressive thing that he has done was hold the entire team together after the sanctions were announced.

Speaks volumes about the culture.

I’ve always been a BO honk as you all know. He has the qualities required to be successful at a school like Mizzou

Off the field he's done great. On the field, he's done average for the caliber of players he has at his disposal.

This will be a huge year for him imo. If the postseason ban is held up (I sincerely hope it isn't) and he is able to keep the team motivated and successful, then he could prove even his strongest doubters wrong.

Missouri was in a bad situation with Gary Pinkel and the bad exposure at that time when he was hired. I have said it he will need time to change all that. It is now looking great and this year should be his best and Missouri best chance to be competitive for the East division. Also he is a MIZZOU guy. hiring the right coaches is the key so far.

I hate hiring Mizzou guys, just get the best coach available. It makes it easier to fire them if they don't live up to expectations.

I need to see decent special teams and in game coaching from Odom before I can make a rational decision.

He's had a good offseason.

Exactly; so far Odom is 0 for forever on plays after timeouts

This is the main reason for the B grade: special teams and in game coaching have to improve to make the next jump up.
