Shakey's on Metcalf was the hangout for under 21 crowd. Believe it or not, fans from both ku and MU got along fine while drinking 3.2 beer.

I don't think the two I dated were conflicted.
If you lived in MO, had to go to ks to legally drink beer. At that time, both fan bases got along while eating za and sipping suds at Shakey's in OP, ks. I never went to kU campus for a date, except my sorority went on pledge trip to their campus. I did fix a sister up with a redshirt freshman I knew from there. They enjoyed the visit. A guy I had dated from kU, drove to Columbia to see me, after my father passed away. That was pretty decent of him, since he had only learned of it by his parents telling him they had read the obituary.
I don't think the fan bases had as much hate for other back then.

It's all good Bogie, you don't really have to explain yourself over this, atleast as far as I'm concerned. Most Mizzou fans on the east side of the state have no idea the paradox of living in KC and actually having some ku fans as friends and/or girlfriend/boyfriend.
I've dated a few ku women in my time, got along fine, some were cool with giving each other shite, some you knew not to talk shite with..lol. They knew of course, neither would change their alliance.
I still have friends that are ku fans or alumns and make no apologies for it. I hate ku as much as the next person, but life is too short not to have good friends regardless of their college affiliation.
I've dated a few ku women in my time, got along fine, some were cool with giving each other shite, some you knew not to talk shite with..lol. They knew of course, neither would change their alliance.
