DLR's HQ is here in Omaha. Calling it Kansas City based is really churching it up

Like I already said the design team is based in KC. That is the basis for the stretch whether anyone likes it or not.

There are some pretty big advantages to hiring an all-in-one A&E firm over a standalone arch firm. That probably plays into it also.

Everyone who does sports architecture has “a design team” in KC.

Is Gensler a Missouri based firm?
Perkins and Will?

Depends on the project team location. It is all marketing. Why does it bother you so much?

Correct. It’s all marketing. And DLR isn’t “Missouri-based” any more than Gensler is.

To the client it only matters where the people they deal with are located (and possibly the billing address for the financial side). If the client says they require a company to be locally based and the client says they are locally based, they are locally based as far as anyone who matters is concerned.

It isn't up for anyone else to determine the strict meaning of their definition.

Sure. Maybe the lead designer has a PO Box in Lees Summit.

And there was beaucoup goings-on concerning the contract and the firm(s) involved. While we'll likely never know the situation, it was another nail in the AD's coffin.

Yeah. I think everyone had Populous penciled in as the firm.

The stuff with Daktronics had some buzzing as well. Which was stupid because there’s not many companies who can do what Daktronics can do.

Mitsubishi is rapidly taking market share from Daktronics in North America.
