but the one thing everyone is ignoring is why did his allstar agent just negotiate an extension that keeps him paid at the bottom of the SEC? Especially after the strong finish and Lock coming back for his senior year.

I don't for 1 second believe Sexton dropped the ball or was outmaneuvered by Sterk. My tin foil hat says this was Sextons plan to make Odom easier to move to a new coaching job. He is not letting Odom make the Fedora mistake of 2015 when he should have moved while he was a hot name. A winning record in the SEC gets him 3.5-4 million at Maryland or Colorado.

Before you comment remember, this is 100% tin foil hat.

If money and resources are the maker in the SEC Mizzou should never win it.

Besides that, it is only realistic winning the East three times in a decade at most for any team in it. Probably once a decade for SC or Mizzou. If you think Odom can give three East titles a decade you pony up and hold on now because virtually no one else is going to do that at Mizzou with the funds and resources being pumped into so many competing programs. The homer in me would hope for more wins but there is so much competition...

His agent can eat a dick. I was BARELY warming up to him and then he pulls this shite. If you want more money, ASK FOR IT. I agree he should be paid more. Mizzou isn't Bama but it isn't Louisville either. 3.5 Million a year should be the max.

but but but

After yesterday’s report that there was “mutual interest” between #Mizzou head coach Barry Odom and Louisville, Odom tells me “I have zero interest in Louisville."

Why the heck is MU so far down in available resources compared to other mid-tier athletic departments?

From Bernie:
"Despite what Sexton’s media toadies will tell you, if Louisville is serious about chasing Odom, then Louisville can get him. Louisville has a lot more money to throw around than Mizzou."

LINK

Louisville is trying to dig out of the Pitino mess in B-ball and the Petrino bomb in football. Someone said they were drawing 50K during the high point of the Strong years. So no big extended advantage of ticket sales.

Pretty confident the ACC is not delivering L-Ville more money than the SEC is giving MU. Did Pitino set the school up financially that well before the bottom dropped out?

I understand not being able to keep up with the crazy fanbases at A&M, Auburn, LSU, and the top level programs at Bama, Georgia, and Clemson, but why are we (supposedly) so far behind Arkansas, S Carolina, Ole Miss, Louisville, etc.

Apparently we are even behind Illannoy and Kansass based on recent coaching $ news.

What give????

I’d not listen to Bernie in regards to anything about Mizzou.

He’s as plugged in as a Bluetooth connection

People on this board are Mizzou fans. But if we step back and truly look at the interest in Mizzou sports statewide, it is pretty low. Football, no conference championships, Basketball, no final 4's. We are historically just above mid majors, and without significant interest you can't have a deep pool of significant donors and supporters.

A school like Louisville made their bones in basketball. their donor list is probably twice ours.

I guess you are saying that Missouri do not belong in the SEC and should be in a lower conference! Is this what you are saying?

What number will Sterk say "I'd rather get exactly the coach I want than pay X?" $3m per?
Second, get the guarantee up enough to drive away most schools. Maybe 6 million?

They're out of season, so I wouldn't suggest it. Not unless you want to spend hours tenderizing, marinating and tending to the grill to offset chewiness and lack of flavor.

June through September -- maybe early October if we get a late fall -- is prime dick-eating season. Whether served as a snack with cheese crackers or as the feature of your favorite summer entree, the sizzle of summer dick will put a smile on everyone's face!

Which coach are we going to hire that’s better than BO though...especially if we don’t want to/can’t even pay market value?

It’s going to take at least 3M just to buy a lottery ticket G5 coach

He also got be the boot at stltoday.com sport forum! I did not post the one with foul language. My account was hijacked at the time my hotmail account was hijacked. I was trying to get my hotmail account back and by that time I posted What was going on? Then I tried to add that was not me posted using foul language. I still checked the site out and see what others posted but I cannot posted there at all. I am banned for life. Bernie no longer doing that but others still kept me banned and will not checked it out. It happened years ago and so there is noting I can do about it.

I had my email address from hotmail.com to the stltoday.com. I must have had my password listed from my hotmail account. I should have had it removed. but it was too late. It was about the St Louis Rams moving to LA or not.

Yes, that's exactly what my post says. WTF? How did you read my post and think it says we don't belong in the SEC? You know what, nevermind just nevermind.

If Missouri does not keep up with paying reasonable pay for head coach then might as well have Missouri go to a lower conference to satisfy the pay of a head coach that do not want to pay the head coach the norm for a middle of the pack in the SEC. That is like Missouri does not want to compete for championships and want to keep the pay as low as possible to make Missouri a bottom of the league of spending on head coaches and other things and that make Missouri not an attractive school for recruits and other things as well. This is not good for the SEC!

When did I write that we shouldn't pay more money? I was responding to a question about why a program like Louisville can have more money to spend.

Literalst can you please help translate. Tell Lefty that I think BO should get more money please. He should get a raise for using the block "M" and if he goes back to Gold instead of yellow and get rid of the claw marks he should get a 6 year extension too. Obviously I'm not speaking the language.

Then you are saying Missouri is cheap and by that Missouri should not be in the SEC! That is just what you are saying. That is my point!
