500 k get's him in range of Muschamp which is about where he belongs. However, if you feel that strongly about it, get Sterk on the line and talk some sense in him

LOL, Muschamp makes over 4M per.

Stoops makes 3.5M

Are we starting to grasp what is the going rate for SEC coaches yet?

When your athletic department operated at a $4.5 million deficit the prior fiscal year and FB ticket sales were a major part of that, it most certainly matters. They are probably two years away from solvency.

If that’s the rationale then how can we afford any raise? Why are we paying our hoops coach 3M+?

Because the BBall program saw a 70% growth in revenue. They sold $5.1 million in tickets. Projections justified his salary.

Do you think they are going to sell 70% more FB tickets next year?

If the Mizzou AD wants to make money, they will need to spend money up front. Pay for a good coach. He will win. Then attendance will follow. The finances will follow after both hoops and football are successful for a couple seasons in a row.

A big reason for BO having 2 unproven coordinators was the money willing to be spent on him and his assistants. Mizzou is near the bottom of the P5 conferences in both HC pay and the pool for assistants.

What projections? Lol. They invested in a coach they thought could win and the rest followed.

Do I expect 70% growth in football attendance? Considering that it’s impossible, no.

I’ll tell you what I do expect though, if we don’t find a way to at least be somewhat competitive in coaching salaries (which we are not currently) then we are going to find it VERY difficult to retain good coaches if we can even attract them in the first place.

In short, we better figure it out.

This is why BO will get
An extension
A raise
An increased buyout
More money for his assistants

If it’s the right move the AD will be in a really good spot financially within a couple of years.

Yet are we seeing any improvement from last year? Yes! Now it is time to keep them and make then want to stay at Missouri and make Missouri better next year! So far I have seen improvements from year 1 to year 2 to year 3 and now want to make sure we continue to make improvements to next year but it will cost money to keep those coaches. Well worth it! Now we all know that Barry Odom and his coaching staffs are doing it right and are doing a good job getting the football team to improve each year and making bowl games two years in a row!

Projected revenue factors into every HC salary at that level. If you think otherwise you are incorrect.

If this is the agent, I don't understand the strong arm tactic. BO is finally in a position to silence critics (at least the sensible ones), his recruiting in St. Louis is a breakthrough and there aren't any hot mid major coaches available. Seems like BO would be swinging the big dick in negotiations without this ploy.

Louisville isn’t the only school with interest in BO.

Some reason a pretty vocal contingent of Mizzou fans don’t like him, but nationally he’s really well respected.

This is classic Jimmy Sexton. In the end, Sterk can give him whatever he wants but I will be surprised if he gets a raise that pushes him to $3 million.

Yes he’s 1 of the best agents out there. And this happens regularly with most of his clients with successful seasons.

It will also help get the deal done.

Revenue goes up next year regardless. The south end zones completion guarantees that there will be an increase in revenue for FB. If other ticket sales remain the same, then we can expect $6.0m in additional revenue

It wasn’t really low.

If you’d have told Arkansas Morris was going to go 0-8 and 2-10, not only would they not have paid him $3.5M, they wouldn’t have hired him.

Luke is a dumb comparison as they’re only paying him to pretend like they’re serious about football while they wait for the sanctions to go away. He may be fired next year anyway.

And Pruitt will be gone in three years if he doesn’t seriously challenge the East in year 3 and have Top 20 rated classes. Odom would still be on the hot seat if he was the coach at Tennessee with 8 wins.

Y’all have beat the drum that one of the primary benefits of hiring Barry is that he’s not going anywhere.

Now we’re supposed to be held hostage by him? This isn’t serious and it won’t be taken seriously, IMO.

When you are the lowest paid coach in the SEC then your salary is low.

This shouldn’t be hard
