Read some stuff on a Texas board and they seem convinced Washington is gone. They just offered another receiver who they had previously told that they were full.

Wiltfong is pretty accurate with his Crystal Balla

What’s the deal with Marcus Washington?

St. Louis area WR (sort of) addresses the rumors swirling regarding his commitment to Texas.

Frank Cusumano, a TV host in St. Louis, reported on Tuesday that Trinity Catholic receiver Marcus Washington had backed off his commitment to Texas and was likely heading to Mizzou. Washington later denied those reports on Twitter and Cusumano’s tweet has since vanished.

It was the latest in what has been a bizarre recruitment for Washington. In August he was supposed to choose between MU and Ohio State. Then the Urban Meyer/Zach Smith stuff happened. He waited and eventually chose Texas in late October.

While the 6-foot-2 receiver would be a great get for MU in terms of recruiting rankings, he might not be needed if Thomas commits. Missouri is already loaded at wideout next season and Thomas would make it an embarrassment of riches. Washington would be more of the same. But less than 10 spots left in Missouri’s class, do they really want to use the scholarship on a spot that’s not a concern? We’ll see.

I’m told Washington’s situation is one to keep an eye on. Maybe something happens, maybe it doesn’t.

I don’t think he was playing games. Frank the idiot basically tipped texas off and gave them a chance to do full on press when he was seriously thinking about flipping.

If Frank had waited to get a confirm from Marcus, he would have signed with us on Wednesday.

Frank’s mouth blew it with Larry Boyd the same way a few years ago. Frank sucks and blows.

I saw we were recruiting JuCo OT Paiton Fears. Crystal Ball has him going to Arizona, but he visited Baylor last weekend. I was reading on Zona Zealots it is down to Arizona, Mizzou, and West Virginia.

He had a in home visit with Mizzou OL coach Brad Davis recently. It would be nice to have an experienced college tackle.

I’ve been looking at Mizzou’s recruiting for DT position this year and I totally forgot about Antar Thompson. I know he redshirted and should have at least 3 years of eligibility. I don’t know if he is still on the team. I haven’t heard anything about him.

Antar is still on the team. He should certainly step into the rotation next year

We better hit on some DT in this cycle because I’d be surprised if Elliott does not enter the draft next year

Did you see Snyder was going elsewhere?

I think we’d take two if they both wanted to commit.

Anyway, I had read that the coaches think Hea has a huge ceiling. Going to be a bit of a project, but we can afford that at TE.

I didn’t see that he announced elsewhere but the timing of the offer is suspicious. I don’t think Hea is a bad option and I think we could take two. Just a hunch.

Could also be that another TE is leaving but we’ll see if we get Snyder on Wednesday.

I’m assuming that means Snyder told Mizzou he wasn’t coming.

Maybe, again though I wouldn’t be surprised if we took two TEs. They were still recruiting other TE when Njoku was still a commit
