They are staying as a 4-3.
Mizzou recruited Ferguson and Harrison as OLB.

With how much teams pass now it doesn’t really matter if Mizzou is a 3-4 or 4-3 base. I expect to see 5-6 DB on the field at almost all times. Next season’s OLB is going to be Perkins.

You could also put Stacy Brown as an OLB. 6'2" almost 200lbs. He could add 20 and probably not lose a step. He already has the LB game face down pat!!

Harrison will need to add about 30 to 40 lb’s and both will be true freshmen. I like both recruits and believe they both have a good upside.

Perkins, Trump, Brooks, Bolton, Bailey, and J. Parker. These are the players I see on the roster that can play OLB. Perkins has the most experience, so we will need some younger players to step up if we stay in a 4-3 base. OLB is a position we need to recruit

I like our tackles even without Palmore and TBJ. BO has recruited pretty good in this area.

Bledsoe has played some as the OLB. Ulmer is another option. Or Aubrey Miller. There’s also a juco LB from Cali that Mizzou is recruiting. Harrison will add weight, 20 lbs would get him up to the weight of Perkins and Ross the current backups at that spot.

Harrison has great length. He is 6’3” that is why he will need to gain the extra weight. Both Perkins and Ross are 6’0”. I looked at his pic’s on 24/7 and he looks like he weighs more than 175.

If he weighed around 205 to 215 that would be pretty good as a freshman and continue to gain over the next few years without losing speed.

Stacey Brown looks like a kid that could move up to OLB. He is 6’2” 195 add around 10 to 15 pounds before next year and he could see some playing time at OLB as a true freshman. Right now it looks like he is a good sized safety,

A couple of NFL games I saw this week had a few times where the defense was 3 or 4 DL, 1 true LB, and 6-7 DB. With the way teams throw the ball via the RPO the LB position will trend smaller.

That is why I like the idea of converting safeties into LB’s instead of converting DE’s. Faster LB’s will help in the RPO, but they have to be strong/big enough not to get pushed around by the TE’s.

I saw that with Marcus Peter’s trying to cover Kelce. Kelce pushed him around at will.

One advantage for the young recruits will be playing with Cale Garrett.

It can go both ways. If Mizzou goes with a 3 man front some then guys like Hansford and Ferguson give Mizzou flexibility to defend the run, rush the passer and play coverage.

These amoeba looks are the way defenses will look in the future.

Maybe some renewed interest with Chester Graves?

If Mizzou can get Graves after visiting him later this week that would be a returnif DLine Zou. Elliott, Byers, Graves and Whiteside(?) should rival any of the previous DL

That would be pretty damn stout and we’d have some really nice depth as well with Turner, Williams and Hansford on the outside

The depth on the inside doesn’t look quite as good though. Utsey has played a good amount of ball but after that we have only Thompson and Jacobs on scholarship.

We need to hit on a couple DT recruits in this cycle for sure.

RockMNation reporting

recruiting notes:
The Tigers visited with 4-star Linebacker Jamie Pettway. He’s visiting Missouri this weekend and could be a potential commitment considering the fact that his other top choice is Louisville and the Cardinals don’t exactly have a head coach at the moment. He’s also got a visit scheduled to Georgia Tech who ALSO don’t have a head coach.

Missouri assistant Joe Jon Finley visited a Louisville Tight End commitment in 3-star Floridian Sam Snyder. It seems all UofL commits are on the market and priorities right now.

The Tigers are also checking in with former Arkansas WR Jonathan Nance, who could potentially replace Emanuel Hall in the lineup and join his high school teammate Richaud Floyd.

Also picking up an offer is Butler OT grad transfer Tommy Kennedy.

Snyder ran a 4.59 40 and has a 40" vertical.
