I don't have a subscription. Probably Jalani Williams.

That’s kind of what I was thinking

Williams plans to commit October 12. Mizzou has had DB recruits visit from Florida, Texas and Louisiana. It will be 1 of those. Then hopefully Williams the next week.

Jalani Williams is who we need badly. Dude never wants to stop learning and he covers over the top well and will knock snot bubbles out of you even though he could put on a few pounds.

Pretty certain he is ours. He’s a quiet kid though, comparatively speaking

That would be a great safety recruiting class if we can get both Burdine and Williams. Definitely need to add some talent to the secondary.

Haven’t heard much on him recently
A safety class of Williams, Burdine and Manuel would be excellent though. Definitely need to inject some talent into this secondary

Former Clemson QB Kelly Bryant was given his release last and got a call from Mizzou today. We’d love to have him but so would fla and usce. And he would love to beat clemson in the annual game next year in south carolina.
And of course there are 50 other teams that will be giving him a call. Glad we called right away.

Meh, not a big fan of this idea.

I have to ask JQ, Why??? Is it the 2 5* QBs already on the roster who are sure bets to seamlessly fill the void after Lock departs? Oh that's right they were not 5* and have shown zero to make such a confident assumption.

Several reasons
I don’t like the idea of a stop gap at the QB position, in general. Depending on when a grad transfer gets on campus it can be difficult to master the offense in a short time period.
Regarding Bryant specifically, I’m not sure he’s that good. A lot of Clemson fans will tell you they made the playoffs in spite of QB play, not because of it. If he was a superstar I’d have a different opinion. I’m not sure he is more talented than Wilson. Kelly Bryant would be sitting behind Drew Lock too. He transferred for a reason. Great QBs don’t lose their job as a SR.
I don’t like the message it sends to the other QBs on the roster and would not be surprised to see both Powell and Wilson transfer and I wouldn’t blame them. That would put our depth moving forward in a very precarious situation as you’d either...A have to start Bazelak as a RS FR or jump right back in the grad transfer/jump market the next year which neither option is ideal.

The coaches don’t agree with you on Wilson. He’s 3rd on the depth chart this year behind Lock and Powell. They brought in Scott last off-season to become the guy after Lock. It didn’t work out. Now they are going to try to get a grad transfer so that Bazelak can redshirt.

Well, I think they are wrong. Wouldn’t be the first time.
Again, I’m sure both will get a chance to play in the opener and it will become obvious at that time who the better player is (that’s if we don’t run them both off)
Bazelak was never going to start as a true FR anyway. He’s got talent but he’ll take some time to develop as he comes from a heavily run oriented offense in high school.
They brought in Scott as a flyer after the Foster decommit. Him being “next” was purely fan creation.

I guess I don’t know what you have seen from Wilson to be so positive that he’s going to be that good. He’s 5-10 passing for 48 yards and an interception. And only played in blowouts.
He might be good, but my understanding is that he hasn’t really stood out in any practices yet.
I’m happy if a grad transfer comes in at the semester. Let the transfer, Wilson, Powell and Scott battle it out over spring practice.

I’ve seen both Wilson and Powell close up at the spring game and it’s VERY obvious who is more talented.
I know exactly what’s going on with Powell, and I’m not saying he can’t be a solid QB...he’s good in the meeting rooms, does all the right things in practice...the type of things that coaches fall in love with.
Wilson brings an element that Powell, or many other QBs frankly, just can’t. He’s bigger and he has the stronger arm.
I’m fully confident that given equal opportunity against live defense it will become pretty obvious, pretty quickly.
Let’s be honest here, no top tier grad transfer is coming in to “compete” for a job. He’ll know that, the staff will know that, and the other QBs in the room will know it.

I don’t remember coming out of any of the spring games thinking that about Wilson. In fact I think that I thought Powell looked the best of the backups.
I haven’t ruled out either being good, I’m just not as confident as you that either will be starter quality by next year.
