Now that we've actually been able to get a look at alot of these guys, how do you feel about the class?

Star gazing would say they class sucked, I dont think that was true.

Played

Knox
Scott
Gicinto
Badie
Bakare
Bolton
Parker
Hansford
Jeffcoat
Ware

Redshirt/DNP
Bailey
Scott
Thompson
Nathan Jr
Thompson
Ruth

Gray

Swinson-injured, was probably going to play

Overall, what are your impressions of the SEC's next to last ranked class?

Hard to say. More than half of them didn't even play according to that list.

We'll find out more about the WRs next year when the QB isn't Drew Lock.

Gray didn't show up. Heard that he was having grade problems.

I was wondering. Something had happened with him when I was looking at the commitment list

Gray is enrolled at Blinn College. He has decent stats. I noticed he had 6 receiving td’s in the first 8 games. He is also there kick and punt return man.

Fun Fact about Nub recruiting. Even with them being terrible they have had higher recruiting rankings than Mizzou. Out of the 19, 4 star recruits over 4 years, only 1 that's right 1 was a contributor in 2018.

Recruit rankings have gone from recognizing a handful of "Blue Chip" players to this bloated fan feast that gets treated as important as a bowl win, in many cases more important than a bowl win. There will always be a few guys every year who won the gene pool lottery, and the rest, well who knows.

Yup, once you get past the truly elite group then development and fit become significantly more important than ranking

Some of those guys that played might end up to be counted as Redshirts. New rules allow freshman to play 4 games and still keep their RS.

On the offensive side of the ball the ones who played did well when giving an opportunity.

Bolton looked good on D and Ware seemed to get a lot of time the last 4 games.

Off topic, did Shamar Nash make it to Arkansas?

It is hard to compare the freshmen contributions to previous years because of that redshirt rule. Lots of players got thrown in for some snaps here and there to see what they could do.
In the past, how much more freshmen contributing could we have seen with that rule in place?
I place more emphasis on freshman contributions on the lines and secondary. Over the years, have seen far more promising RB, WR, LB that didn't improve vs OL, Dl, S and CB.

I love the class (those who have played). How could you not?

They made plays and displayed flashes of excellence.

Hopefully the redshirts show as well when they eventually get their chance.
