Mizzou targets that were once pipe dreams.
Tank Jenkins (Texas A&M)
Eddie Smith (Bama)
Mario Goodrich (Clemson)

Smith just blew up after his Mizzou visit. Don't usually see that from a DB. But when Bama comes calling and Saban is your position coach, whatya going to do, of course that's where you go.

Every year since moving to SEC, we seem to find an under radar kid or two that suddenly blows up and somebody else gets them. I was worried Hansford would be one too.

2 years ago it was Jacobs the RB that went to Bama. Last year the 6'5" WR to Ohio State.

Ellijah Gardiner was the 6'4 wr that flipped to Ohio St. and he was listed as a freshman on their roster and didn't catch a pass, so I'm assuming they redshirted him.

I hope Ruffin is a better coach than he appears to be.

I don't. I hope he fails miserably

Odom only got 1 out of the Missouri 10 and that's SAD!

Well, he got 3 of the 11 he offered. Not great and hopefully that gets better.
I'm just not sure what pitch you use to keep kids from going to Ohio St, Clemson, Oklahoma, Texas etc.
In state kids have no loyalty. Especially here in STL. It's a bad look. Wish KC would start producing more talent. The discrepancy is even worse next year.

Recruiting is about relationships. Maybe C. Ford just doesn't forge those relationships in the St. Louis area. Need to offer Joker Phillips a job, and plant his azz in St. Louis.

We've always had these issues in state, and particularly in STL.
I don't think it's that simple.

every game we have thousands of available seats. Absolutely HAVE to start giving these tickets to STL and KC schools and teams at a young game. Get these kids to games when they have zero loyalty anywhere. Get them while their young. You and I started watching mizzou for the same reason. It was shown to us at a young age. we could have picked any team that we wanted, but mizzou was introduced first. Works the same way with in state kids. Playing for your one and only state school should be a dream, regardless of record.

Im not talking about what we just witnessed, or the past. Im strictly talking about this recruiting class being over with, now just focus on winning.

Gotcha. You're right. It's never going to be about flash on signing day for us. We are meat and potatoes.

People will not want to hear this, but it's the truth.
Kids are all about attention, the big name and their chance to be in the National Championship. I don't dislike BO, but who the heck is he to theses kids. Mizzou should have just went out and got a big name head coach or the most heralded up-and-comer. Local kids look at Mizzou as average and the fans and media don't demand better.
How often do we beat blue bloods and not only beating them when they are down and out. I live here in Cali now and the word on Mizzou is that it's a crappy school that never wins anything.(Their words and not mine) The attendence is not good and up to this point the stadium isn't up to par. We also have the rep of turning some of the under-the radar kids into better players. If you are a stud player why would Mizzou interest you?

A name coach wasn’t coming to Mizzou in 2015. The stuff that went down on campus forced the AD to make a riskier hire.

I also dont listen to what ppl in cali say about anyone else in the country. so.
