According to PM Mizzou has offered a few DEs in the last few weeks. So it seems the coaches knew this was coming.

I would agree with that. Unless they're naive, they have to know that any top players are looking elsewhere, including the so called Missouri 10.

Perkins commits to Oklahoma

As if that is a surprise. Also what will not be a surprise will be the repeated echoes off of BOback mountain saying; we really did not need much less expect him, It's inherently impossible to recruit to MU, We are better served and should be happy when we get an unwanted/unranked guy to develop( because that is the only path to success), Home grown talent is always overrated, those daggone bluebloods yada yada yada. #BOMUSTGO

Well well, BOback predictable echoes have started. As of now the response replies to losing another home grown stud have fallen into the "yada yada yada" category. I am sure the BOback BOys will again air out their other propaganda catchall excuses/lowering the bar & expectations/demand twists soon and often. #BOMUSTGO

Meh, we need to win games to get highly rated recruits and even then it's an uphill battle.

We're not winning and the kid picked Oklahoma.

If we do we'll down the stretch we'll see some increased recruiting momentum. Then we'll see how BO and staff can develop the guys he gets.

I am sure JQ and crew will come back with their "Fake News' revisionist history regarding 1. How extraordinary this year's home grown crop of prospects "were' 2. How successful BO would be in plucking the low hanging fruit in his back yard and finally 3. We can still fill out our class from elsewhere.

I am beginning to wonder not only how many G5 teams and even how many FCS(DivII) schools will have better classes as I am sure virtually every P5 school will. As a well known politician freguently ends his tweets " so SAD '

I'm less concerned about Trout then I am Perkins.

DT just isn't a position of great need.

What do you disagree with?

Perkins is a bigger loss.

DT is not a great position of need.

These are facts.

But we need recruits. And good ones.

Those are both facts. Do we have any? Good ones, I mean? Our ranking seems to indicate we do not.

I don't know. We'll see if we got any good ones in a couple of years. I would assume we get at least a handful. Hopefully we get a lot of them

I don't understand why this is so hard for you guys to understand.

We are still months from signing day anyway.

Don’t pretend this is some irrational response.

We are ranked near the bottom of all P5 teams for recruiting. It’s a number. It means something. And it’s not good.

Its not irrational and I agree with you. My response to JQ was because he thinks the Mizzou fanbase hates Odom. Im being sarcastic with him.

So it’s perfectly fine MU loses out on quality football players because DT isn’t a great “position of need.” Jesus. Are you even trying anymore? MU can’t afford to lose out on quality friggen depth at the very least.

Remember when TBJ went down? Brantley?

It’s never a “position of need” until it is because of players not developing, getting injured, or just being dumb with drugs etc.

Holy shite. This team really can’t afford to lose anyone at any position that has talent.

Wasn’t he a late addition? After GP had missed on his early targets.

Not sure actually. I’d have to check. It was a big blow losing him on D because of his car driving idiocy though. Which was the real point I was making.

You obviously want to get your priority targets. Trout, Thompson and Perkins fit there.
Any DT Mizzou signs in this class is likely to redshirt, especially if TBJ returns for his senior season.
Next year seniors: TBJ, Brandon and Palmore
Juniors: Utsey and Jacobs
Sophomores: Elliot, Byers and Whiteside

Missing on Thompson or Trout won’t really hurt Mizzou next year, but it could hurt Mizzou in their 2nd-4th seasons if quality DT’s are added in either this class or the next

Exactly. Depth. It won’t hurt now necessarily, but two years down the road when you want a talented upperclassman to plug in for w/e reason that’s ready to play.

Would have loved to have Trout, obviously. My only point was that DT wasn't a huge need because of the numbers we took last year.

If we only take 1 DT this class we are fine. If it's Thompson we are more than fine.
