Glad we're getting commitments, but these aren't real high rated kids and have midmajor offers. Not saying anything is wrong with taking them, just an observation
We do what we do. While today's system opens more kids up, it doesn't get everyone. Players like Darius White are Top 100 kids, 4 and 5 stars, yet were worse than 2 and 0 star kids.
It doesn't matter what services think, as long as Pinkel and the staff see something in them. I'll take winning actual games over winning recruiting classes all day every day.

Who is this Baldwin kid that just committed?
Athlete outta Texas. First Texas kid in this class.
May be wrong, but recruits by state
MO: 3
STL/MS JUCO: 2
TX: 1
LA: 1
GA: 1
IL: 1

Is it just me or does there seem to be a lack of excitement about 2016 recruits nationwide not just Mizzou? 2017 seems to be the year everyone is pointing to.

I noticed that too. There's some great recruits coming next year but not so much in 2016.

We don't need recruits to help us next year. The guys helping us next year will be from 2 classes ago.
We develop. I'm sure we'd love to get more game ready kids, but the formula has worked pretty well this far.
That being said. Strong and Taylor can and will help next year.

I'm not sure if Mizzou is a master at player development or if we are lucky as hell to be winning as many games as we are. But, I do agree. I'd rather win on the field than any other off-season ranking.

OJ Mau has decided to stay in FCS at Garner Webb. That stinks, but we still have a shot at the Juco DT Houston.

So Mau decided he can't play with the big boys huh? If Houston gets an offer, is he 3 to play 2?

Does anyone follow the first page at all with the offers? I don't think any of our last 4 or so commits even showed an offer per 247 or Rivals. Just kinda seeming senseless unless y'all do actually check them out. I'd keep the commits in the OP as we get them though. Either way is fine. Just looking to see if it's even looked at.

All seem to have received offers in the last week or two.

Some think that there's a chance that this Baldwin kid might be offered by Bama and Baylor within the next month. I hope he's solid to Mizzou. His highlights impress the heck out of me.

Does anyone know/have a guess at what position he'd play for us?

Linebacker would be my guess.

They are listing him as a linebacker.

Commits, yes. Offers, not really.

Thanks JQ. I'm done with the offers then.

Is it my wishful thinking or does Balwin remind you of Sean Witherspoon?
Sean was a 2-star out of Houston.

what does 15th round money make in the MLB draft? Doherty got drafted by his hometown team, KC

not sure how much $$$, but someone said on twitter that he said there's a 90% chance he's gonna play at Mizzou

The slot value is $100,000. They can pay him whatever they want but if it's more than that, it gets subtracted from their total slot pool for their picks in the first 10 rounds. There is the rare exception, but don't expect to see him offered more than maybe $150,000-$200,000, if that. The key will be to watch what the Royals do with all of their other picks in the 1st 10 rounds. If they are signing all of those guys under slot, then that would free up money that could be offered to him or whoever.

I'm gonna post a more thorough post in his specific thread to keep that talk out of this thread.
