Actually just as likely to happen, hell Mizzou was in place to play just last year if they win the SEC Championship Game they were in. If any SEC team runs the table in the foreseeable future they have a chance.

Mizzou could have gone last year with one win against Auburn. We could have gone with a win against OU a few years back. Just, win, baby. If you're in a power conference and end the season undefeated, there's a very high chance that you'll be in the Championship. With just 1 loss, your odds are pretty good.

That's an accurate pic, we will die before it happens. There's only been two schools who have done it and it was under controversial circumstances. The '84 BYU Cougars had a cupcake schedule and the 1990 Colorado Buffaloes needed two games decided by the officials, we all know one of them.

Bottom line now is its all about the money nowadays, there will never be another underdog who gets lucky like that. It will always be the big dog at the bowl.

But they didn't win. Why do you think Okie State lost to Iowa State 3 years ago or K-State in '98 with Bishop? They don't win championships, they were going to trip up somewhere, same reason why oregon always loses a game or 2. They've never been there before. Rinse and repeat for every school in that same category which sadly includes mizzou.

I agree with you there, teams like mizzou will always have the chance but once they get to that point like last year they fall to a big time program, Oklahoma/Auburn. We're a good program that can win conference championships eventually but my point is that the tradition factor is the reason why schools like Mizzou can never get over the hump.

Guys, let's please keep the recruiting thread on topic. Interesting topic, but not for the recruiting thread. Thanks.

It's my fault but I just had to respond to a few intriguing posts that I ran across while reading the thread today, I said my peace and gave my opinions, I'm done.

It's all good! Interesting discussion, and it may deserve it's own thread.

Ya your right, and there's no way a non traditional power like Wichita St will ever go to a final four.....

According to 247, Alex Ofodile said today his top 3 includes ND, Oregon, and Michigan State.

Alex Ofodile said on video that was published today that mizzou, OU and Notre Dame would all be in his final group. He had really positive things to say about all of the schools and it sounds like it will boil down to his comfort with the coaches. He says he will decide before August and will be an early enrollee. But maybe he will change his story once he sees what the "sources" are saying he will do and what he is thinking.....

Well that sucks. I really think the timing of the Hentges announcement screwed us. Had he held off and Ofodile announced first, I think we would have had a pretty good chance of getting his commitment. Once part of the Big 3 went elsewhere, I'm gonna bet Ofodile goes elsewhere. As always, hope I'm wrong and it's all conjecture based on zero information as always.

But they will never win a championship. The NCAA would never let it happen, why do you think they put them in Kentucky's bracket? all I'm going to say about that.

As for the football recruiting, I would like Ofodile but Oklahoma and Notre Dame is pretty stiff competiton. i think we're going to have to buy him DGB style.

If I am Ofodile I am thinking more balls come my way now that Hentges is not coming.
