"Markel Smith commits to Mizzou" is an outdated, standing headline that should have been deleted from our system. Somehow, it found its way onto our site this afternoon for a few minutes, and if you clicked it, you noticed the story was blank.

I apologize for the confusion. There is no news on Markel Smith.

Why did it exist in the first place?

Because Smith had previously committed to MU, and the PD ran a story on it. At least that's their explanation of how the headline existed.

That story would still exist with the headline though. It's not like they have a database of headlines that someone can choose a headline and just re-post anytime they like.

So, there's definitely smoke. Their explanation doesn't really make much sense.

I'd love to see the young man recommit to Mizzou, we need a RB like him. But, doesn't he have qualification issues? Are they expected to be worked out, or will he have to go JUCO like Chase Abbington?

Personally I would be fine with him going to JUCO for a year. I do not know how much he would play year 1 (Pinkel does not play freshman much) and it would give him time to develop while still playing consistently and keep a spot in this years class open.

Ohh boy. The headline was accidentally posted. It means nothing. You tin foil hat whackos. This isn't proof of anything. You guys must live in your parents basement. You are all so dumb. Conspiracy.

You can't go to JUCO for a year. You must go for two. He wouldn't be here until the 2016 season.

JUCO is 2 years, right? We won't have Abbingdon until 2015? Assuming we still get him here, that is.

We only took 3 OL last year and one left, Harnett Gill. We have to get 8 this year to average 5 OL a year. You need to average 5 on the OL and 5 on the DL.

Are we anywhere close on the DL?

This was recapped on page 78, I think. We have 2 DL at this time. Definitely need more.

I know it's unpopular, but how can we not politely ask some of these kids to decommit?

We could use a couple more OL, and a few more DL, and LBs. We only have a handful of spots left, those should go to our needs instead of our wants. Yet we're about to take on Wingo and hopefully Smith, maybe we could get blue springs running back to flip from KSU. But we're stuck with the Finus Striblings and Ish Witters of the world.

Speaking of DL. Does anyone else think Kendall Blanton could end up as a pass rusher, or is he a TE for sure?

Because we do what we do, and that's not what we do. Quit bringing it up. Or, at the very least, quit expecting someone else to back you. Pinkel ain't doing it. We don't think Pinkel should do it

I meant between last year and this. Can't remember how many DL we took last year. Will go check.
